Tom Compton update

Tom in his second year with the Washington Redskins played over a half at ROT against NE and did well.

Looks like Compton has earned a starting role for Washington - right tackle.

Actually Tom played fairly well last night, and held his own. He had one false start, which John Gruden quickly jumped on, but other than that, I thought he played well. I would be interested in seeing how a professional coach would grade him, but to the naked eye, I was impressed. Congrats Tom

He did some nice things last night. I thought he pass protected well, but seemed a little late off the ball when they ran it to his side. Probably still adjusting to the pace of play, and playing on the road makes it tougher with the crowd noise. Kind of chuckled when Gruden jumped on him for the false start, all I could think of was Frank Caliendo's impression of him.

Another untrained eye here..... Saw approx 90% of the game. No holding calls and no sacks allowed. Also a couple of nice runs on his side, including a TD. Gruden dinged him on the false start (I couldn't tell if it was Compton or the Tight End that flinched), but also praised him on at least one occasion. I'm curious to see if this performance earned him the starting job going forward.

I thought Tom played very for his first start, on the road, playing against a team that was hot, etc. Keep it going Tom!!

I see that Tom is the "Homecoming King" for today's Vikings/Redskins game at TCF Stadium in Minneapolis. I'm not sure what that means but congrats anyway. Hope he has a good game, but for the losing side (after all, I am a Vikings fan youbetcha).

Tom had another very good game! No penalties, gave up no sacks and did well in pass protection and run blocking and showed good mobility.

Tom started for Washington playing primarily blocking TE with some RT. Played 3 1/2 Qs and had a very good game.

Tom survived the cut down to 53 and will be on the Redskins roster as expected.

Tom played at lot at RT Sunday in the Redskins win over the NY Giants.

Tom played well and was mentioned several times as blocking TE in Washington's NFC East clinching win over Philadelphia. Have fun in the playoffs Tom!!

Redskins free agent is reportedly signing with the Atlanta Falcons

The Redskins site confirms Tom's move to Atlanta which means he'd be team mates with Tyler Starr again.
