Is this 9 man football when the QB runs to the sideline after every play to get the next play? Come on. Delay of game because of it.

Kevin Earl broken thumb on his throwing hand. Out 6-7 weeks. Tough... He played well too!

Kevin Earl broken thumb on his throwing hand. Out 6-7 weeks. Tough... He played well too! Tough Loss. Arguably the leagues top 2 QB's go down with an injury in week 1 and are out for about half the season. Sumner went down and with an ankle injury in the 1st quarter of the game and is out 7-8 weeks.

That is football. One of the reasons recruiting and depth are vital. IMO SDSU does not have as steep of a drop off from 1 to 2 at the QB spot. Without Earl the season just got a lot tougher. The leaders on the team will need to step up and help the backup get ready. The WP game has never looked like such a good idea as it does right now!

Feel bad for Kevin, he was on the verge of a big season. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Don't know much about Saeger, but I think having the benefit of a solid core around him should make his learning curve more manageable. It was good to see the Yotes put 170+ yards of rushing on Oregon, you would think that will translate nicely to the Valley, and be especially helpful for our QB. There is a lot of talent on offense, Line, RBs, and WRs, TE. Like obc said, they all need to step up and help the QB.

Vander Maaten a possibility at QB on a temp basis? He had some skills and experience. Tough to see what happened to both USD's and SDSU's quarterbacks.
