Does anybody know why Jordan Roberts isn't getting much playing time? Just a year ago, USD touted he and Trevor Bouma as the "Bruise Brothers", and this year he has been pretty silent. With Bouma out right now, giving Jasper Sanders 90% of the snaps on run plays just does not seem like a very efficient use of our backfield. Is there something else going on behind the scenes?

I was wondering the same thing. We hardly had a chance to see him all year with most of the runs going to Bouma and Sanders. With Bouma out, I was expecting to see a more of him on Saturday. After he fumbled early in the game, I don't think he got any carries after that. I think Sanders is a good running back but it would be nice to see Roberts or even Kilgore pound the football a little more instead of dance around in the back field like Jasper seems to do especially when he starts getting worn down.

I might be wrong, so take it for what it's worth, but I think I heard that he has had a couple mild concussions.

I know almost nothing about Kilgore. But what I like about Bouma and Roberts is the 'one cut and take what you can get' style. It doesn't provide the home run, but it gets you a lot of 7, 8, 11 yard runs. I think that style would've served us better on Saturday. Jasper's pre-line-of-scrimmage dance, then cut approach will occasionally deliver a big gain and works very well against lesser calibre defenses, but not against ndsu.

If it's the concussions, that makes total sense but if not, it's a real head scratcher. Also, if that's the case, why did they put him in toward the end of the game last Saturday? During Saturday's game against NDSU, the drive that we put together to score the touchdown had a lot of different looks to it which is something that I think our team lacks right now. It seems like we run the same handful of plays with all of the same personnel which has to make it easy for a defense to get into a rhythm. 94Grad has it right with the 'one cut and take what you can get style' which is a completely different style than Jasper has.

He fumbled on his first carry. I believe that is why playing time was limited. I like Jordan a lot. He has more wiggle than Bouma and more power than Jasper.
