In the pre-tourney press conference Douple didn't do anything at all to ease anyone's worries about the instability of the Summit League. I mean come on at least acknowledge that the league is in need of adding teams and not out of convenience. When he commented on Fort Wayne he definitely realized the possibility of them leaving and really didn't seen too worried about it. I think right now the plan is to just pretty much do nothing as far as trying to recruit new members. I think the hope is that Augustana decides to go D1. Even if they were to do so that would put the conference at 9 if Fort Wayne were to leave. I would have no problem if Augie joined but I would make it a requirement that they have FCS football for that to happen but I know that would never be a requirement for them. If the Summit adds non football schools they continue to have to have ties to the MVFC and that conference is tied to a conference that has half of it's schools that want football to die.
If the Coyotes strike out and do not get at least one of their teams to the NCAA tourney than how is the Summit league exactly been a great thing for the Coyotes other than for it to be to be in the same conference as SDSU. If the Summit doesn't start acting like a leader than the Coyotes need to take their destiny in their own hands and start actively pursuing their options and to get the other Dakota to hopefully go along with that.

Maybe he's giving off the vibe he does because; A. Leaders shouldn't show signs of panic, and B. He knows more than you do and has some prospects lined up, or C. One of us has agreed to start a men's baseball or soccer program in order to meet the conference championship requirements.

That time of year again. First Lunch with the U is at the 41st St. Pizza Ranch tomorrow at noon in Sioux Falls. Bob Nielson will be talking football. Bring a friend and get on the band wagon. Going to be a great year for USD sports.
