The Yotes now lead it 62-48. They seem to be getting good looks today. I don't know maybe the Eagles defense isn't showing up tonight. This is a much different Coyotes team than we saw in some of the recent game. Different for the good.

64-48 and the Coyotes are firmly back in control. It's not over yet but the Yotes are in passive aggressive mode. They are now taking time off the shot clock before shooting but still having good possessions. 8:29 to go.

At the under 8 and ORU hits a three. 64-51 Coyotes leading. The Yotes definately have their shooting touch tonight.

66-57 Coyotes with 4:23 to go. The Yotes have been milking the clock well but ORU is in outside stiking distance.

ORU got within 7 but a huge foul and basket with 1 free throw to come for SD. 68-59. Yotes hanging tough. The crowd thought it might be the charge but the ORU announcers think they made the correct block call against ORU. They are very objective fair announcers.

2:38 left 71-61 Coyotes. I am glad the Coyotes generally shoot free throws well because they will likely shoot alot of them from here on out. I see a very well coached SD team out there tonight.

83-70 Coyotes is your final. I was impressed with alot regarding this game. The Coyotes really handled the end of the game well running down the clock and shortening the game. They did this from the 8 minute mark on. The only thing that didn't seem to go well was a few too many turnovers. The Yotes otherwise played smart and got good shots on the offensive end. I didn't really pay much attention to the rebounding stats but it did seem as if they held their own on the glass. Oral Roberts will probably say they didn't play their best game and they have been tough at home. Have the Coyotes split with every team they have played so far. I can't think of any sweeps or having gotten swept by anyone yet.

8-7 is the road record so far this year. The 6th most road wins in the nation I believe is what Van Gohr just said. I will say and have always said you can tell the most about a team how they play on the road.

Very nice win for the Yotes tonight. Going on the road at ORU and basically taking control of the game from start to finish shows a lot in this team. Craig Smith continues to show his boys have no fear and will never give up.I know we can play with anyone in this conference and can't wait for the Summit League tourney to see how this all plays out, but first we have some home games to take care of. Especially the bunnies to the north in a couple weeks! Proud to be a Yote!

The Coyotes now go from the Mabee Center in Tulsa back home to Vermillion to take on a 13-11 Avila team that plays its home games in the Mabee Fieldhouse on Tuesday. This should be a good tune up game heading in to the final three conference games at home starting with the IUPUI matchup next Saturday at the Dome. Denver follows that game on Wednesday, the 25th, and then its a game against SDSU on Saturday the 28th to close out the regular season before turning our attention to Summit League Tourney action. IUPUI picked up a 54-53 win today at Denver and will not be an easy task. Despite their record, Denver will be a huge test as they just took NDSU to the wire losing in OT 73-69 on Thursday. USD is starting to play some of their best basketball of the year at the right time. Tonight's game was proof of that as the team shot their best FG shooting percentage of the year. Great team effort and again, the announcers were singing the Coyotes praises as to how this team plays an unselfish, team-oriented brand of basketball with a group of guys who have high basketball IQs, who know how to shoot it, and know how to win games. As one of the announcers said, "I would not want to meet this Coyote team in the conference tournament." Keep it up Yotes and stay dangerous!

Well the goal is to hopefully go 3-0 during the conference portion of the homestand but that might be asking alot considering the home record isn't so good. If that happens and ORU losses at SDSU and IPFW loses at NDSU I believe the Coyotes may be in line for that #3 seed depending on the tie breaker vs IPFW. We have to hope IPFW losses at Denver and at NDSU. If it came down to it I wouldn't mind a rematch with ORU in the 4/5 matchup as the Yotes have played well against the Eagles this year. They should have won the first time at home against them as they blew a late double digit lead. I think NDSU might be the better second round matchup so hopefully if the Yotes get the #3 spot than NDSU will be #2. If the Yotes get the 4/5 slot hopefully NDSU is #1 seed.
