3:18 to go and it's 73-60 Coyotes. Now the Jags are having a tough time keeping up. The Coyotes are playing a pretty good game today, certainly not perfect but solid.

77-62 and the Yotes have their first 4 game winning streak of the season. Tyler Larson had 21 points and 13 rebounds. He is simply a tremendous rebounder for his size. He is going to be missed with all that he brings to the table. The spread at the end was not quite indicative of how close IUPUI played the Yotes today. We will take the 15 point win and move onto Denver next week in Vermillion. Now lets get that mens and womens sweep today that has been so common this year when both teams play on the same day.

Great win Coyotes against IUPUI to avenge an early season loss. Yotes scored 24 points off IUPUI turnovers giving up only 9 and won the rebound battle 33-27. Tyler had a double double with points and rebounds and was a beast on rebounding especially in the last few minutes. Trey had a rare 7 point play before IUPUI touched the ball. Stole a pass was intentionally fouled while making the basket. Made the 2 FTs and then hit a 3 pointer after the inbounds! Austin had some quality minutes. Eric was sick with the flu. Yotes are on a four game winning streak their longest of the season and appear to be peaking at the right ! Go Yotes!!

With Oral Roberts and IPFW losing today the Yotes are now in a 3 way tie for 3rd place. I am not sure of the tie breaker senarios but I believe if either the Yotes beat SDSU or Oral Roberts loses to NDSU the Coyotes will hold that tie breaker. When it comes to IPFW it becomes more complicated. both teams have split with most teams in the standings. The tie breaker could come down to which team finishes higher in the standings between Omaha and Western Illinois. The Coyotes want Western Illinois to finish higher because they swept them whereas IPFW only spit with them if they beat them the second time around. IPFW will sweep Omaha if they beat them at home. The Coyotes only split with Omaha.
Now that I look at it closer if Oral Roberts beats NDSU and USD loses to SDSU it would then come down to whether IUPUI finishes higher or if Denver finishes higher in the Summit league. If Denver would finish higher the Yotes would win the tie breaker, if IUPUI finishes higher it would favor ORU. Go figure that both of those teams are tied in the standings right now.
The bottom line is that the Coyotes control their destiny for the #4 seed by winning out. They could also force a complicated tie breaker senario with IPFW by winning out as well. Could we have a coin flip for conference positioning.
It comes down to this. If the Yotes finish 4th or 5th most likely they would get a matchup with Oral Roberts. If they finish 3rd they would play the team that comes out ahead between IUPUI and Denver. To me all the games are about even in my mind. I kind of like a rematch with Oral Roberts. The Yotes played well against them both times they played them. I would not turn down the #3 seed for that matchup but in all three senarios I see a Coyote win in the first round of the tourney this year.
