Tip off scheduled for 12:00 PM Saturday afternoon. Haley Seibert for Fort Wayne went off twice (I want to say she had 33 and 26 against the Yotes) during the Coyotes in the regular season. It will be important to contain her and not let her carry the Mastadons and keep them in the game. Fort Wayne despite their 3-13 conference record played some good basketball. They played SDSU and USD to one point games in Fort Wayne and played pretty close in Vermillion as well. They have potential to be in this one. They might be the best 3 win team in league history LOL. Odds are that USD is going to put together a full game so why not have the third time be the charm and blow the Mastadons out of the Denny Sanford Premier Center.
I originally thought I was not going to be in attendance to this one but a last second change has me headed to the Denny for this first ever tourney game in the new Summit League home.
Can't wait for this tourney to begin. I have been so proud to watch and follow both the men and women this year. They have both been a pleasure in different ways.

Time to start that title defense. If this is a close one I'm going to be disappointed. The game out in Fort Wayne was tough, but we had an incredible lead against this team in Vermillon before winning by only 11. Go Yotes!

What is it about playing Fort Wayne as this was another close game. The Coyotes seemed to gain headway with spurts of scoring but were way too inconsistant. There were long portions of the game where the Mastadons were simply the better team. That cannot happen when it's a one vs eight seed. The Coyotes have got to show a little more desperation to their game if they want to win this tournament. The game was tied with 4:00 to go but luckily the Coyotes knew how to handle crush time better than IPFW did. Seekamp was really good today. In the first half the Coyotes missed alot of close in shots which didn't help matters and led to Fort Wayne leading at half. Hopefully this is just a case of a bad matchup for USD. Need to step up their game. The Coyotes fans were pretty good overall. There was quite a bit of red in the building but not nearly as much as there was Blue.

Not the performance any of us wanted to see, but a win nonetheless. I know last year our first game was not at all what we were hoping for and we managed to pull it out and finish as champions. Credit to IPFW on their performance, they didn't look like an 8 seed at all today. Time to look ahead to IUPUI/WIU on Monday.

Lady Yotes showed determination and toughness despite two 8 point deficits in the first half and losing a 12 point lead to trail by 2 in the last 5 minutes. Played D done the stretch and made plays and free throws to ice the game. Didn't get down or panic but showed the poise of a champion!! Hats off to Fort Wayne for playing a very good game.

The Coyotes seemed to allow too much dribble penetration to IPFW. The Dons were driving right by the SD defenders and getting to the rim. They were also getting fairly open threes as well. As has been the theme alot of the season the Coyotes need to stiffen up on defense more consistantly. Fort Wayne played really well. Kudos to them for pushing the Yotes so hard.
