I see the Jacks men drew Colorado State in the NIT. I also see that Colorado State's women are in the automatic field along with the USD women. That would be an interesting and fun match-up with the former and current Coach Williams going head to head. Remember Caitlyn Duffy is a former Colorado State player who will be suiting up next year for the Yotes and Chad Lavin is also on the staff out there as was Mandy Koupal until recently. Anyway, could be fun to host the Rams in the Dome and would make a lot of sense for the NIT, both teams, and for fans.

Curiously would USD be a higher seed than Colorado State to be able to host them. I know they hosted Colorado a couple years back so I would think they could host Colorado State as well. Bring on the Rams.

Bring on the Rams. When we hosted Colorado in the past I believe it was because of a schedule conflict with their own facility. Region looks to heavily play a factor in selecting the games, but would they really put two conference champions together in the first round? I would think that these two schools would be set to host their first round game at RPIs of 75 and 78.

Obviously the info was not sealed very tight until announcement time. Good to have at least one home game in the tourney. Old habits die hard as I looked up Creighton in the Missouri Valley standings forgetting that they moved to the Big East. Creighton finished 17-13 and 10-8 in the Big East. Some highlight games. They beat SDSU at Frost 88-81. They won at UNI 58-56 (USD won vs UNI 85-77). They defeated Kansas at home 84-81 in OT (Coyotes lost at KU 68-60). They lost to #12 Nebraska only 60-57 at home. In late January and February they got hot winning 8 of 9. They lost to St. John's in the Big East quarterfinal. USD's RPI is 77 and Creighton's is 88. The RPI for the Big East as a conference is #10 and the Summit is #25 so a big difference there. Creighton is definately no pushover based on the conference they play in and based on some of their wins. This will definately be a very stern test for the Lady Coyotes at home. Since this game is in Vermillion I'd give the slight edge to the Yotes. If USD were lucky enough to get by their first two games they would await for winner of the foursome of UCLA, Cal State Bakersfield, San Diego and Long Beach State. The Coyotes are in primarily a Western leaning bracket. Should be an interesting tourney. It's gonna be very tough to keep advancing. Here is the bracket www.womensnit.com/uploads/2/0/0/5/20054671/wnit_championship_bracket_nonwriteable.pdfGo Yotes!

Food for thought for a possible second round host site. Colorado State has a RPI of 84 and Northern Colorado 119.

I would think Colorado State would be given host rights if they win their first round game. Our RPI is better, but we posted near identical records with CSU playing in a slightly tougher Mountain West. Not that we should be talking about a second round game an hour after we learned who the first game is against.

Lady Yotes have a fun draw here. A chance to beat a good creighton team with the possibilty of seeing Ryuuuun in the second round. Creighton is tough though, need to show up ready to play. Curious to see what kind of intensity we come out with.
