Dear coyotefan
I am sorry to inform you that the Junior Appointments Committee has decided not to pursue your candidacy further at this point. We received nearly two hundred responses to our advertisement, including a great many from highly talented and accomplished applicants. Obviously there are many different considerations on which our decisions are based, and I hope you will appreciate that I cannot go into specifics about individual cases. We will keep your dossier on file until next year, when we shall probably be advertising a junior position again.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your credentials, and let me wish you the best of luck in your job search.
Sincerely yours,
COYOTE NATION

CF, the lack of backlash should not come as a surprise. The board has become desensitized to your over-the-top sensationalized posts. It really isn't a surprise to see you call for the program's head at this point. Here are two conditions necessary for this discussion to become more heated: 1) Anyone other than you would have to start the discussion 2) The topic has to have the slightest bit of logic and reason at its core. Overwhelming logic and reason state that Coyote football is going to continue for many years to come.

I'm not about to jump down anyone's throat for voicing their opinion.
I'll say this: The non-conference schedule put together for 2015 is probably, in my opinion, the perfect scenario for this program right now.
** Guarantee game against Kansas State (it is what it is; a money game. Just glad to see it's a regional program, same with Iowa State in 2020). ** At UC Davis, to close a home & home. (USD will always schedule Big Sky opponents, and at least this one, no offense to Aggies fans, isn't to the level of Montana). ** Home vs Drake. I like this matchup for USD right now, and I like the idea of this being a home & home.
Our league is tough enough as it is. We don't need to pile on top of it. In future seasons, when USD is gunning for the playoffs, it'll need top-25 non-conference games. Right now? Nah, I like this schedule.

The idea of football being dropped is completely asinine. This athletic department would fall on its face without the money earned from football and revenue from guarantee games like Oregon, KSU, KU, etc. A lot of people don't realize that many FCS programs take a whipping from Power 5 or FBS teams to fund the rest of the Athletic program. So Coyotefan, before you go around blabbing about the football program not pulling their own weight, you can have the soccer, softball, track & field, golf, swimming & diving, cross country and tennis teams write the football players a thank you note for getting the butts kicked so that their programs can be funded.

These changes take time within the trasnition. These changes are finally/have happened for Bball. If my calculations are correct we did add another coach this offseason for football. Lost 2 and hired 3 I beleive. I do not mind coyotefan's posts. sometimes we have to hear things we do not like in order to make change. We cant ignore legit problems and always just post how great we are. On the other hand we cant be so negative that its detrimental either. Theres times where days go by and nothing gets posted on this blog so all comments are welcome in my eyes as long as they are not completely out of line. Gives us something to read at work.
The dome needs upgrades badly but it is definetely not antiquated. We underestimate the recruiting tool the dome could be when upgraded with seating on both sides, lockerroom, concessions etc. not very many college teams have a dome (dont tell me that football was meant to be played outside either). If that was the case NFL teams building stadiums the last 10 years wouldnt be building domed or retractable arenas like they are.

Clearly I am out of the loop, but how long has Jeremy Hawkings been assisting the coaching staff? On twitter he is referenced as the assistant DL coach. I am not familiar with him, but maybe my head has been in the clouds.

If that was the case NFL teams building stadiums the last 10 years wouldnt be building domed or retractable arenas like they are. --------- I looked at the USD and SDSU coaching staffs and SDSU had 4 more coaches listed. I don't know if we can just go by the list or not. SDSU has "Offensive Quality Control, Defensive Quality Control and Video Coordinator" listed. I don't know if USD has those positions or not. USD does have their "Director of Football Operations" listed. I know SDSU has that position ( I don't think they have somebody hired for it right now) but it isn't listed. I would say SDSU probably has a couple more coaches but don't know about that for sure. I think you look at the dome like some SDSU fans look at Frost Arena. SDSU is looking into updating that as soon as they get the money but it still is a ok facility. The new seating messed up the sight lines for a year but that is better now. I still don't think it is ideal. Of course, with all of the new arena's coming to the conference, Frost will look more out of date soon. I will try to answer you NFL question as I think it should be answered. The NFL season has games that will be played in January some seasons. The college season ends by the middle of November. That is about 6 weeks of winter later. I do have to give you that SDSU's home attendance for their playoff game a few years ago was terrible. It was over Thanksgiving weekend but would that help or hurt attendance if the weather wasn't about 10 below windchill? Next season, SDSU only has one home game in November. The rest of their home games are before that. Would you rather sit inside a dome or outside and watch a game in September? I know there is a chance of rain or wind but more often than not, the weather is fairly nice. I would say that normally weather only effects maybe one home game a season. The other games most fans are happy to be outside enjoying the weather. This doesn't include people like grandma that just wants to go and watch their grandchild play but I think it covers the majority of fans. Hopefully nobody takes the grandma comment the wrong way!

With Coach Williams taking on the special teams he needed someone who could be with the DL, when the special teams are doing there thing.

The first post in this thread is obviously (?) an April's Fool's joke.
On an equally ridiculous note, how many of you will be NHL Coyote fans if that team's squabble with the City of Glendale (AZ) results in a move to the Midwest? Kansas City Coyotes, anyone?
It's approximately three months before the Drake-USD game. Hopefully, Drake will be more of a challenge than William Penn. Can't guarantee anything, however.

Thanks for checking in with us. Actually William Penn gave us more of a game than we wanted. They ran the "option" offense, and it hurt us for awhile. Drake has done real well since making their move, and I expect them to come to Vermillion with their thoughts on winning the game. For us, it is going to be an benchmark game in my opinion. In theory we shouldn't have any problems and if we don't then I'm going to feel decent about our chances in the league. However if we struggle, then I'm going to be nervous. Drake is a solid game for us, and regional as well. It makes sense to continue this series for some time. Back in the 60's it was an annual game. We will be having a large tailgate on the east side of the Dome that day, with over 50 former players making their first annual trek back to Vtown to support the Coyotes. Theirs going to be plenty of food and beverage and you, your family and friends are invited to join us. See you on the 19th. YFE

Thank you for the invitation! I made it up from Kansas City last time...pretty sure that was the first indoor football game I ever attended.
The Bulldogs are long on experience, short on talent this year. Andy Rice is returning for his third year as the starting quarterback, which is an example of the good news/bad news.
Due to financial aid cheating in the Pioneer (by charter, a nonscholarship league), our 1st place team has been disqualified from the playoffs the past two years. The league is actually considering loosening its aid rules. In the meantime, I hope to enjoy a series I've wanted Drake to schedule for years. The old saying "careful what you ask for" didn't cross my mind at the time.

Having a quality, regional opponent is a win/win for everyone. I hope that it can last for years to come.

Another fine article by Mick...
The Fighting Sioux will be hard to replace, the current list doesn't look too promising IMHO

Since they are so bitter about changing in the first place I would suggest they go with no name out of protest. The other six are pretty bad anyways.
