As far as a lack of eating establishments off campus there is probably some truth to that but I always liked the cafeteria food and definately liked Charlie's as well. Does Charlie's even exist on campus anymore.

This is funny. Texas A&M has a top 5 enrollment every year so if we are on the list with them I will take it I guess. The comment on the bottom of the page is funny. It states its a picture of SDSU's campus per lazy journalism and the picture is clearly not USD. Does this mean we can pull the argument of the only reason USD received votes in the bad campus foods poll is because everyone thought they were voting for SDSU as was stated in the preseason FCS coaches poll?

Lack of chain restaurants is probably what hurts USD. Never mind Vermillion has Cafe Brule, Red Steakhouse, Silk Road, Mexico Viejo, Little Italy's, the Roadhouse, and Cherry Street Grill. Actually, there are some pretty great dining options once you scratch the surface, but no Applebee's and no Chili's will get you on a list like this.

I did not even notice how old it was, just saw Hoeck tweet the link. I wasn't taking it very literal, just something to pass the time at work. I do know the stud. center now has Qdoba and Chik-fil-a. There are some good eating est. off campus (Mr. Jone's breakfast!), but it would be nice to get a larger restaurant chain like BWW or something like that. How has nothing moved into the lot where China Buffet was right across from Beede?
PS. RIP Shay's

RIP Shay's I have heard that corner spot across from Beede is owned by the same person who has the empty strip mall at Cherry and Cottage. The strip mall that has not had a single business move into it since opening like six years ago. No urgency there.

It was the cafe in the old Coyote Student Center before they tore down the building and built the new one. Maybe it has been long gone by now but in the 90's it was a good establishment on campus.

Yes, you are talking about Charlie's in the old CSC. Great place to eat and hang out. Long gone.
CSC ------> MUC, My how the vernacular changes over the years. The campus has been rebuilt over the years to the point that I don't know if I could have a conversation with a current student.

Ouch! My son hasn't complained about the food one bit, however it is only the first week.
**If it was bad I would have already heard about it...

Ouch! My son hasn't complained about the food one bit, however it is only the first week. **If it was bad I would have already heard about it... The food isn't bad and this article likely had 5 total minutes of research put into it. In fact, the picture for USD in that article appears to be of the Jackrabbit Village at SDSU...not a lot of effort put into this article. I lived on campus back in 09/10 - before the additions of Chik-Fil-A, QDoba, Papa Johns, Einstein's - and my only complaint that I took away was the lack of variety, which has absolutely been addressed with these additions to campus dining. Eating the same Aramark brand foods every single day got old after a few months, though to be fair I'm sure I would have gotten tired of Chik-Fil-A if given the opportunity to gorge myself on their spicy chicken sandwiches instead. If the food turns out to be crap I'm sure you'll hear about it from your son, though I sincerely doubt that will be the case.
