Damn I forgot about this game until it was over. What happened to the Yotes tonight. It figured to be a tough game but a 64-43 loss is not good. I know Seekamp is out (and my oh my have they missed her) but this is not a good start at all to this season. 19 turnovers tonight and very poor shooting. The Coyotes don't need to just get better, they need to get WAY better. This is not a team that is looking like a virtual co favorite to win the Summit League. Having one player out is not a good enough excuse to be playing like this. The Coyotes are supposed to be a hardened and a rather veteran team so these early season struggles really come as a surprise to me.

StatsYotes got spanked by the Panthers 64-43. I did not see any of the game so I don't have much for analysis to add to this one. Looks like Duffy had a tough night shooting. She did not look great vs Utah. When I watched she had an airball and hit the side of the backboard on two different 3 pointers. Hopefully she hits a few and gets her confidence going.

cc5--Duffy didn't look great at Utah?? Had 20 points which led the team, had several nice 3s, rebounds, etc. Not a perfect game but certainly very good for her first Coyote start!

Watched most of the UNI game. UNI was committed to not allowing the 3 and did a great job defending the 3 and they also had a lot of penetration to the basket on the offensive end and overall were quicker. Yotes had numerous turnovers trying to work the ball in to the bigs on O and weren't as sharp on D as UNI. No doubt the Lady Yotes will regroup and the new players are getting used to playing together.

I am a bit disappointed in Abigail Fogg's contribution so far and I am not necessarily saying she is at fault for it. I was of the belief that she would be a big time contributor and the dominant center on the team right off the bat especially playing for team Canada in a tourney this summer. In 2 games she only has 21 minutes so far with 4 points and 3 rebounds. The minutes concern me the most. Is she not supposed to be a player that is expected to play big minutes or what is the deal with her I wonder. Now as I write this I looked at her bio and she only had 2.6 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game at American University as a sophomore. Her stat line against UNI is a bit concerning. 0 points off of 0-2 shooting, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 3 fouls and 4 turnovers in 7 minutes of play. Now I can see why she only saw the floor for 7 minutes. Hopefully she is just in an early season funk like most of the rest of the team and that she will end up being a force in the Summit League. Liveringhouse was the only Coyote with over 6 points tonight with 11 and that was in only 13 minutes. Guess who should start seeing the floor more often.
Next game Seekamp is back and it's at Kansas State on Thursday.

This is a roster with 7 new players, 8 if you count Severyn. These things dont come together all at once. Not only are the players still learning each other's games, but the coaches do a lot of lineup experimenting this early as well. Should look much much better with a veteran like Seekamp playing 30+ minutes against KState. Don't over analyze or jump to conclusions just yet.

Game tomorrow at Kansas State is being broadcast by Fox College Sports Central, Midco Channel 316 I believe. Let's hope Seekamp brings the team back and we get the win.

From the end of the 3rd quarter on when I watched she did not look very good. It looks like it carried over to this game as she did not make a shot. I did not mean it as a negative post, just an observation. I'm sure she will be fine.

Seekamp is already proving why she is pre season Summit League player of the year and she hasn't even laced up her sneakers.
