he is one of the candidates. our board is being flooded with this information right now also. thought to let you know. he is a great coach and im sure he will bring most of the staff. We are projecting his replacement if it does happen. I also know that CSU will do whatever it takes to keep him. Could you provide a link to your board? Did you see how he jumped right on that......He is a TROLL....ban his IP address! |

Hey guys. All can calm down now. The host Mark Hymes said he has heard from multiple people close to the program is that he has interviewed for the SD job but he also has interviewed to 2 other programs. 1 i know its La-Monroe. The other is unknown. He also said he has spoken with CSU about returning with a new contract and some program changes.
They believe CSU will keep him as he wants to remain here for ever.
There was a mention about the SD job and they believe SD will make an announcement early this week. So we will know either way in a few days.

My guess is that the company leading the search made contact with him, if it's true, because of his success. If indeed that happened, I would say two things. First, that's the job of the search company, to bring as many qualified candidates to the forefront and give us as many options as possible.
Secondly, maybe he said something to the radio guy, and he interpreted that as an interview. He may have done that to maybe negotiate a more favorable contract where he's at. Who knows.
All that being said, do you want me to ban this poster? I'm not sure they have done anything wrong other than stirring the pot.. You all make the call.

Go see my post in the admin section if you have any questions. Bottom line is these types of speculative posts and threads are going to happen when there is a coaching search like this. As long as they are not vulgar, profane, or personal attacks they will not be edited or banned. You are free to read the posts, ignore the posts, or respond to the posts asking for a source or verification. This is kind of the purpose of a message board, to disseminate information. Sometimes that information will be good, sometimes it will be a bunch of BS, that is the nature of the beast. If you don't like the information just ignore it, or call the poster out, just be respectful and keep it clean. **There are other boards out there that are highly censored, you know those places I am talking about. Post the wrong message and you get threatened with a ban, root for the wrong team and get threatened with a ban. This place isn't like that, never has been, and won't become that way now. |

I would definitely think that by this time there would have been a coach that has come to Vermillion to interview but maybe not. I would also think that it would be hard for that coach to get in and out of town without being spotted or without any kind of valid info being leaked in some way. The admin has been very good about keeping things under wraps because their has been pretty much no info or even any real substancial rumors so far. Basically no good info for the board to chew on. I wonder if their will be a list of any kind released of the finalists for the position. If any of them are still coaching I would have to think probably not.
I am just chomping at the bit to find out some juicy info.

For those that hadn't seen it yet, Jeremy Hoeck earlier noted that Louisiana Monroe was also using the same search firm as USD. This probably lends credit to the earlier comments by janekbfootball. At the very least it would explain the origin of the rumor. |
