Whose your choice to replace her? Hard to say without knowing who'd be interested enough to give up their current position. There should be a LOT of very good applicants for the job,as Amy will be leaving her successor an absolute gift with a very strong program she has built . That said, what I would wonder about is what her going to Nebraska would do for recruiting for all the Summit League teams in the area, especially in Neb as Yori left a lot of players because she only took the cream of the crop in Neb ,where as Amy will go for players who will be good further down the line as they are developed more.Yori had a lot more National focus in her recruiting it would seem.Amy will have a lot more resources available as well as the P-5 mystique some recruits are drawn to,to use to nab higher profile players. But frankly, she'll have to if she wants to succeed at a level where every game in the Big regular season, except for the very bottom will be a grind.I do think USD's team this year could have done pretty well in the Big 10 though. I can't help but think it's probably a little premature in stating my view point because her decision hasn't even been made public yet.Hope she stays at USD,but would understand and wish her the best if she decided to move on too.She left plenty in the cupboard if she does,so, thankful for that.

I don't know who might be considered but I hope it will be someone who has a proven track record recruiting girls in this region, or at least the conference footprint. Indiana and Illinois have loads of good BB talent.

Indiana and Illinois have loads of good BB talent. But they also have many D1 programs in the area that take the best recruits, after the very best leave too, going out of the area altogether, except for Notre Dame, who can get who they want.Very little trickles down to IPFW for instance, that was one of ex-coach Chris Paul's biggest complaints, they were always under sized for post players,so they had to rely (live or die) with the 3 pt shooting and went with a smaller, quicker 3 guard offense a lot. They never could go too deep off the bench either. To their credit, they did beat a ranked Mich St team on the Spartans home court in a shocker one year, when they were on shooting, they were very dangerous. It's very hard to recruit players to a team that has a history of struggling to win games,it might be easier for a school like USD however to recruit in the area.Coach Paul had a negative win/loss record (125-195) in his coaching career at IPFW and he was the longest tenured and winning-est coach in the schools 40 yr history .

True, and really the talent we have have gotten from our own immediate area has panned out well in the past. State's roster is heavy on SD and MN girls. We are heavy on NE and SD girls. Despite our low population there are plenty of good female athletes around here. Height too. Must be our German, Dutch, and Scandinavian genes.

And don't take my previous comments to be racist. There have been plenty of standout minority players on our rosters too. Maybe the Coyotes more than the Jacks. Probably a discussion better had in another thread.
Back on topic, anyone know much about Amy's assistants?

The Nebraska job is currently the best open job by a looooong ways. But we are not Nebraska, so it matters more what is the next tier we would compete against. That list isn't too daunting - not saying we are the best option, but certainly near the top. Thus, we could have a shot at the 'runner-up' types at Nebraska.
Interesting side note - Wright State's WBB job is open. What do you think the chances are that they are talking to AJ about the exact same things they talked with Nagy? Not likely, but interesting...

Would LOVE to see Chuck Love get a shot, no pun intended Agreed. I have heard great things. I have had one conversation with him last year but found him to be a very personable and classy guy.

As far as Love being a possible replacement, provided he has the qualities we are looking for this is the kind of a hire where building on what Amy has done would generally be considered a good thing as long as his goal is to basically do the same things that Amy does. I certainly wouldn't mind letting Seekamp be the main assistant under him if she would be interested.

It would be cool to see Seekamp stick around as a GA but there is no way she is passing on a professional playing career.

One challenge about hiring within is that a P5 can often pay an assistant just as much as Summit League teams pay HC's. I don't know Love, but that decision would be whether he wants to be HC right now or get P5 experience first - money could be a wash.

If he gets offered the job assuming the pay is close why wouldn't he want the head job right away. It would seem like a no brainer to stay if he would be offered. I am guessing he doesn't have the Nebraska ties that Amy does so he best career progression would be to nab the head coaching job when it's available.

I could be wrong but I think Dawn Staley played in the WNBA and was the head coach at Temple at the same time.
