I think the reasons for UND being ranked are 1) UND was very very young last year and 2) UND finished the season on an absolute tear after getting the qb back from injury. It may seem like we are overrated but it feels just right to me. I feel like USD should be ranked but I'm not familiar with how much you guys have lost form last season.

The polls are done by either coaches or sportswriters who represent teams from each conference. There are no past results to suggest UND is a top 15 team but they likely will be top 4 in the Big Sky and with 14 coaches/sportswriters representing the Big Sky you will see plenty of votes for UND (and other Big Sky members) in the polls. I don't care what level of football you are at the polls are terrible measures of a team's actual quality. Have to play the game, but this poll does favor MVC.... MVC Ranked#1, USD #24, & UND#46  herosports.com/rankings/college-fcs-mens-football (Last Update :January 13, 2016) Yikes, this poll has Dartmouth as the #3 team, among some other head scratchers. |
