Some of us are older (74) and like a little history!
As you get older you'll understand.

Thanks for the recap of things that happened before I was born (I'm 32), and surely isn't relevant today. FYI, relevancy didn't begin 32 years ago.

Thanks for the recap of things that happened before I was born (I'm 32), and surely isn't relevant today. Not to be crass or a cogidy old fogie, but history is relevant. Specifically when it comes to this matchup. It shows that programs run in cycles. SDSU clearly has things rolling now, and should be the goal of all Coyote fans to once again flip the cycle. Jim Abbott was a great president, but he made one huge mistake and that was not going D-1 at the same time SDSU did. I made several calls to him to get him to change his mind. He didn’t, and we are paying the price. So kudos to SDSU’s administration for pulling the trigger. Now we have to play catch up, specifically in football given we can’t on the timeline. We need to fund our program at a level never done before. Do that, and secure stable coaches, and we’ll be back Regarding their stadium, it’s really nice. In the fall with temps in the 60’s or 70’s, it’s great. Unfortunately for them, those days are limited in number in this great state. If you’re a Jack fan, you’ll say you prefer the outdoor stadium. If you’re a Coyote fan, every game played at home is 72 degrees with no wind. They are proud of their size of stadium and I would be also…if you filled it or came close to filling it. Yet we have no reason to bash them as our attendance stinks. What people would find out if the committed to coming, is a packed Dome would be a game changer for fun. Loud atmospheres encourage the athletes. And winning breeds winning. I guess what I’m saying is for my money I’ll take 72 with no wind every time and twice on Sunday. But I wouldn’t knock their stadium. It’s nice. Regarding playing 6 home games, what he said is spot on. The Jacks “buy: the 6th game and the level of support we currently have we can’t do that. Once again, we MUST invest in our program now.

While we all love the dome let’s not pretend that it’s a superior place to watch or play football. Yea we stay warm but we don’t play past November typically anyway. We’ve improved it but it still has poor sight lines and needs more major renovations on the east side. We’re also pretty much stuck with 9k seats unless they can figure out how to blow out the north wall. I typically don’t side with SDSU but hate on them all you want, they built an amazing stadium with an eye towards the future.

Wasn't sure where to put this, so the smack thread is as good as any place. I was a USD band member my freshman year, so this really upsets me. I remember we always had a lot of appreciative comments from the football team and the student section. Never felt like our student section was against us ever. I know there are jack-@sses everywhere, and judging a whole group based on the actions of a few is foolish, ...but this is pretty classless IMHO: Pride band members say students have thrown booze bottles at them
