Direct quote from the bunny board:
"Pork Classic is today at Frost. Bring your pickup and bid on the hog to raise money for the SDSU athletics."
I sure hope this has nothing to do with their cheerleaders...should be a law against it if it does.

Frost is a 4-H barn. I always suspected that was the case.

Do the coyote's have any athletic traditions which honor it's heritage, it's alumni, it's founders, it's mission, and it's fans? Business Bash? Doctor Day? Would you like fries with that order classic?

Would you like fries with that order classic? Are you saying your school was founded by pigs, or that the fans are pigs? Either way you don't see too many college degrees walking around at the sale barn. For some reason higher education usually leads to making a living where you don't constantly smell like shit. I'd be embarrassed if I went to a school that takes pride in selling an animal at a sporting event every year.

Nothing wrong with celebrating your heritage, it's just the whole hog sale fundraiser sounds so high schoolish. SDSU is a D1 school now, I would think they would act like it. I've never heard of Iowa State Athletics having a fundraiser like this.
To answer your question, the only thing I can think of is homecoming, Dakota Days, which is enough.

I've been out of pocket - has the Argus/MZ posted the 'see, I told you that SDSU would be good by the time of SLT' article yet? Curious if it mentions pig-power?

Do you have to be a doctor, lawyer, nurse, engineer or something like that to feel like you have been successful in your higher education? Some people probably feel they can go out and grow food so everybody has something to eat. They want to help other people so it's not just make the almighty dollar. Don't get me wrong, if they didn't make money they wouldn't be doing it either.

If it is all about helping people eat, why is there so much grain in the bins waiting for the prices to rise? It is all about the money.
I would love to grow food and help people eat. You have to inherit the farm and the land, it would be extremely hard for someone to start-up a farming operation. I would not be embarrassed to smell like shit because of owning an operation, nor should anyone be ashamed of it. The point is I have seen numerous people run a large operation with no education. It is becoming more common to go to college, but to me a kid would be more beneficial saving the tuition money and going under their fathers wings earlier to learn hands on sooner. The entire part of college is to get a degree so you can use it on your resume for potential employers. A kid that knows he is going back to farm does not need a degree in hand. Take that $50k or whatever it costs now for operating or to start on some land or livestock.

...or to buy a new pickup. Better to spend the cash than to give it to the government. Depreciation is a great thing.

The Bunny Football twitter account recently tweeted the below in a poor attempt to smack some of the recent DYK tweets from the Coyote football twitter account. Maybe someone should let them know that the Missouri Valley Conference and Missouri Valley Football Conference are not the same. #FEEBLuE
