Streveler - this week's winner. 475 yrds of total offense, 3 TD's. That's two weeks in a row for USD. While we may have lost a heartbreaker yesterday if you all don't think this program is on the right track, you need to rethink your analysis.

Funny, if Streveler is #2 then Simmons is #2b in the league. (I like Simmons as USD's #1)

Considering Streveler was voted 2nd team QB after the season it seems as if they simply backfilled 3-5. I sure hope a year of offseason work helps his short passing game and a better O-line gives them an all around more effective offense.
I think Simmons will see the field, and be the benefactor of all the beef coming on the O-line in 2018 and beyond.

I wonder how good Christion will be his senior year without Goedert and Wieneke to rely on? I would think any QB would flourish with those two studs to throw to.

Edit: Looks like usdyote has said in the past that Simmons will/may get overtaken as the starter next season. Whoever gives the team the best chance to win is who I want as QB1.

I wont talk negative about any kid that busts their ass in the classroom and on the field. But when I see posts that Simmons is better than Streveler (my interpretation of course) it bothers me. If he was don't you think the coaches would start him? Simmons became the #2 last year pretty much by default. He had 1 start last year and came into a couple of games for a couple of plays. In my opinion that doesn't justify giving him the starting spot next year. My opinion only don't mean to offend anyone.

I think it is great to have two very talented, experienced QBs that are both capable of starting and winning games!!

Some might like the skill set that Simmons brings to the table better than the skill set Streveler brings to the table. I didn't see anybody advocating for Simmons to be the starter next year. I think you took a leap there.

There are people advocating Simmons be the starter, even if it isn't on this board right now. With that arm you can certainly make a case. I trust the coaches to play the guys who give us the best opportunity to win.

Coaches have a good scenario with 2 solid QBs... Football is subjective and coaches will make choices that they feel are helpful towards their future employment. Cream rises to the top; these issues have a way of working themselves out. Important thing is to have and maintain competition at every position to ensure they get the best out of every player.
