www.bloggingthebracket.com/2016/7/26/12276526/2016-gulf-coast-showcase-preview-history-houston-george-mason-vermont-hofstraThis is a link to some information about this tourney coming up on Monday November 21st. Here are the teams. Quarterfinals Vermont over Wofford Hofstra over Bradley Kent State over South Dakota Houston over George Mason It sounds like this will run like a single elimination tourney but everyone appears to be guaranteed three games. The author of this informational article will not be popular with Coyotes fans how he picks this tourney to go. The Coyotes will play either the winner or the loser of the Houston vs George Mason game and then someone from the top 4 depending on how they do. It will be very difficult for the Coyotes to win it and very difficult for them to lose it. They will probably finish somewhere in the middle. This will be the perfect test for the Yotes. It will be on a neutral court so a good location to judge the teams fairly.

Kent State had a win tonight to go to 3-0 so it will be a battle of unbeaten's on Monday. They have had a couple of blow out victories but haven't really played all that tough of a schedule so far.

Kent State had a win tonight to go to 3-0 so it will be a battle of unbeaten's on Monday. They have had a couple of blow out victories but haven't really played all that tough of a schedule so far. Their two D1 opponents were Cleveland State and Mississippi Valley State, who finished at 272 and 330 in RPI last year. Only beat Cleveland State by 5. Kent State went 10-8 in the MAC last year and does figure to be a tougher opponent than Bowling Green (5-13 in the MAC last year). We can take them.

If the Coyotes could get by Kent State it would probably setup a game with Houston. They just about made the NCAA tourney last year. The Cougars are considered the favorites of the classic it would appear. Otherwise it would be George Mason who kind of has a history a bit with the NCAA tourney. They made a deep run I believe a few years ago. Don't remember the specifics on that.

I'll be boarding the Coyote train to Fort Myers after today's game with the Buffaloes. I'll be the eyes and ears of our fanboard, so if you want a football guys perspective on the round ball I'll be glad to offer it up. Is anyone else going to be there by chance? If so, shoot me a private message. Thx.
As a tidbit of human interest perspective on this game, our former AD, Joel Nielsen, is now the AD at Kent State.
The game Monday is at 6pm CST.

Have fun watching the Coyotes in person. Are you sure the first game is at 6PM Central. I thought it was at 4PM Central. I believe the Kent State game should be pretty close to a pick em game but I wouldn't favor either team to win by double digits.

Not on ESPN3, but all games will be streamed on BD Globals YouTube channel. YouTube streaming is compatible with Chromecast, Roku, etc and is similar in quality to ESPN3 streaming.

That was a fun half of basketball. Need to battle harder on the boards and try and keep them out of the paint. Kent state is large and athletic.
