Love Streveler's strength as a QB. In this video of him carrying another player it looks about as difficult as carrying a bag a groceries home from the store.

Roster updated on the website. www.goyotes.com/roster.aspx?path=footballAs previously mentioned, Strong, Hill, Khilgore gone. At first glance, don't see Byrd or Kemar Downer. Numbers 73 & 35 have been given to others. I remember seeing Downer (dreads) play a lot of CB against SDSU, but never saw him following week and it seemed weird to me as I didn't remember him getting hurt. His Twitter says he got good grades and he has retweeted some stuff from the team acct recently, but his bio doesn't say anything about USD.

Nate Gunn also back listed. If memory serves me he was moved from RB to LB last spring then got hurt in fall camp so he probably didn't have a #.
Also a little surprised to see Brian Woodward stayed around. Only because he got moved from QB to DB and now LB. just thinking if I was a QB by trade and that early in my caree I may have transferred. But I guess not.

Byrd is no longer with the team. He's focusing on some personal issues and his academics.

His Twitter says he got good grades and he has retweeted some stuff from the team acct recently, but his bio doesn't say anything about USD. Looking at the Spring Roster and the Fall Roster here are the changes minus the graduated Seniors: No Longer on the team: Khorey Kilgore (RB), Calvin Strong (RB), Kemar Downer (DB), Emmitt Knight (RB), Romontry Hill (LB), Nathan Byrd (OL), Gunner Fuleberth (DB) Additions: Justin Heinrichs (DB, So.), Nate Gunn (LB, Jr. From 2015 Roster), PJ Friedel (WR, R-Fr.), Noah Roberts (WR, Jr. From 2014 Roster), Joe Kordus (LB Fr. New Recruit from Prep School, 2016 Grad), Max Frank (DL, R-Fr. Transfer from Wyoming?), and Cody Jennings (OL, Jr. Junior College Transfer). Position Changes: Brian Woodward (DB to LB), Darin Greenfield (LB to DL), Ben Klett (LB to RB) No real surpises as roster always change and players decide to either drop, transfer, or play. Postion changes are always inevitable as the needs of the team often dictate. I would expect to see a few more changes before next fall.

Thanks for compiling that info, yotefbfan! You hit the nail on the head. Only disappointments for me are Knight and Byrd. Knight's story was cool and I had hoped he would have some success here. Byrd seemed to be showing real promise, but based on the info from usdguy99 he is (hopefully) focusing on the correct priorities right now. The items was Hill and Strong are also disappointing, but we were already on notice of these earlier.

Appears Kemar Downer ended up at NAIA Keiser in Florida.
Khilgore at Lindenwood with Jed Stugart.

Last week on Colin Cowherd's show he was talking about the FBS win totals Vegas had released. He was talking about how he has a formula he uses when betting on teams, that if they have 16 starters back from the previous year and a lot of offense and lineman back he figures they will be ready to go in September and ahead of the competition who may have more new guys.
It got me wondering about the yotes and MVFC. USD only lost Banks and Bouma on offense. Thery return the entire secondary, Loehr, Wessel, and several other guys who played a whole lot. If you were taking bets, what would you set the over under at? I'm thinking 6.5. What about other MVFC teams? SDSU 9.5? NDSU 10.5? UNI 6.5 or 7.5? ILL St 6.5? YSU 7.5? Indy st 2.5? Mizz St 3.5? WIU 7.5? SIU 3.5?
What say you?

It's about time this thread got back on topic.
At 6.5 it is too easy and probably appropriate to take the under. I think 5.5 is a more appropriate over/under for the team (and that might be considered high). I would bet that Vegas might set it at 4.5. The schedule is very difficult this year how it plays out. The Yotes were 4-7 last year and even with a 2 game improvement they would still finish under with the 6.5 number.
I think the Coyotes will be a good team this coming fall, I just think the schedule is very difficult. Many tough road games and SDSU and Youngstown are very tough home games. The Coyotes can be a good team and still finish 5-6 or 4-7. Youngstown is as good as they have been in years and the Jacks may just be bringing their best team into the dome that they have ever had.
I still question the defense and the teams ability to play better with the lead. If those two things are taken care of obviously the 6.5 number could be surpassed. The offense will be worth the price of admission this year and probably many more years to come.

I would guess the offense is going to have to be able to put up points to compensate for the defense. 6.5 may be me looking through red colored glasses.

You're short. We are better than everyone thinks. I see 5 wins in the Valley, possibly 6

You're short. We are better than everyone thinks. I see 5 wins in the Valley, possibly 6 Wow your over under number is 5.5 in conference alone. That is awfully optimistic. The Coyotes would have to win every one of their games they are supposed to plus steal at least 2 that most people would consider them underdogs in. Lets keep things in perspective. The Coyotes have never finished better then 3 wins in the MVFC. You are expecting a jump to 5 or 6 and with a schedule that I don't consider favorable.

What about the other MVFC teams? What are thoughts on their expectations?
