Lady Yotes beat their 3rd IL school of the season 68-59! They shot 91% today at the FT line! Allison was named the tournament MVP and she was joined on the all tournament team by Fogg! Best non conference record since moving to D1! Great Job Coyotes!!!

Best non conference record since moving to D1! Great Job Coyotes!!! It's actually the 4th Illinois school by my count - SIUe, SIU, NIU, Illinois.

Another nice win and that is nicely starting to sound like a broken record. Both games in Kansas City were similar in that the Coyotes dominated the first half only to have the margin decrease in the second half. With this game the lead wasn't threatened as closely as NIU threatened yesterday. The Coyotes never seriously let SIU back in the game. The Coyotes aren't winning their games by 20 and 30 points but what they are doing is firmly establishing themselves early in games and allowing the final score to look a little closer than the game played out.

In the last game of the Roo Classic Northern Illinois beat UMKC
Coyotes win it at 2-0 The directional Illinois' go 1-1 UMKC goes 0-2
The Coyotes came in as the likely best team but they came out clearly the best team.

Wow. I'm starting to think this team could compete for the title this year, which is crazy given all the turnover. SDSU is still the team to beat IMO, even without Miller, but this race could get interesting!

With Miller I would give them a slight edge based mostly on experience - but they were still not a deep team, and a single off night with foul trouble could beat them. Without Miller, they take several steps back, and will really struggle to score (which was already evident when she took a breather). I can't tell right now exactly where IUPUI & WIU are in relation to USD, but I think it is a 3 team race - all 3 being teams that can score - with the rabbits being a half-step behind those 3. Still bummed we won't be able to see Allison vs. Macy this year though.

(How SDSU plays in its league schedule) Besides Miller they have Seniors Young and Ober that are all-conference type players. That Madison G. is a sharp-shooter, and there is quite a bit of size with their post players. AJ is a good coach, and always seems to have our number. I'm not crowning them just yet, but respecting their potential. Coach P has shown some good strategy early in the season, too. I think her staff does a good job scouting and game-planning. For example, Fog was our top scorer against S. Illinois, a team that defends the arc well. The way our players have had success in her new system has been nothing short of amazing. These coaches must be good teachers. Beating State early and losing to them later in the season would not surprise me at all. I think they are having to adjust to losing their best player.

This list might include Arkansas in a bit, Oral Roberts leads them 40-29 at half. The league is looking as good as it has been since USD joined.

That is stating it very well - much of the league caught up to the rabbits (not just the Yotes when we joined). No one is finishing with zero or one loss this year.

ORU wins 70-60 over Arkansas (who drops to 10-2 on the year). Top half of the league is way up from previous years.

I think if we played the Arkansas game now rather than a month ago it would have a different outcome
