Perimeter D unbelievably bad. Should beat this team by 15+

Embarrassing. NDSU should not have been in this game at halftime.

Looks like Yotes are gonna have their first SL loss... Rallied in the 3rd for a short lead, then the bizun started shooting out of their heads again. We did not look good tonight.

This game feels oddly similar to the Oral Roberts loss from last season. First road test and the Coyotes come out flat and sloppy. Duffy and McKeever looked like freshmen tonight and Fogg was nowhere to be found. Allison looked good tonight but no one else really did anything. The supporting cast needs to be better going forward. The conference schedule is brutal and any team can win on any given night. USD will get the other teams best shot given that USD is the 2 time defending champion. It's a tough loss but I highly doubt this will be the only Bison conference win this year. They almost knocked off SDSU last week at home.

It took until the 16th game of the year for this team to play their first truly poor basketball game. At some point that was going to happen. I think we could allow them one bad game. With that said the Coyotes have either played poor or mediocre basketball for 5 of the last 6 halves of basketball since the Summit League season started. We don't want this to become a trend. So now the team faces their first real adversity of the year. We will see how they react against IUPUI on Saturday which is far from an easy team to have to play bounce back basketball against. This just shows how tough conference play is regardless of how good or bad a team is coming in.
A team will only do as well as their defense takes them and the Coyote D was not good tonight. The Yotes were scrappy at times and hustling at times but in general they were out played and out hustled by the Bison ladies.

That was a hard one to watch. We need to play better defense.

Lady Yotes were just flat in general and played poorly from the get go. Didn't seem to have near the intensity that the bison did, gave up uncontested 3s and easy lanes to the basket for gimme layups. Also lost the rebounding battle. Good lesson they should learn from. Don't pay attention to any Summit League team's record they're all good teams. Every game will be a dog fight so prepared to do battle! It's bounce back time--GO YOTES!!!

That was definitely a weird game. Uncharacteristic in many ways. With young players I think we should expect a little inconsistency. If our two freshmen combine for more than two buckets, that game is different. Unfortunately, our perimeter defense has been consistently bad all season. I think the shooting slump we have been in will work itself out, but the defense is a system problem. Hopefully Coach P has an answer to it.

Hadn't noticed it so much in other games, but our defenders on layups often weren't in the proper position to the left or right of the basket which is naturally were the O player wants to go for the easiest shot so just a mental aspect of the game that can be easily corrected.

IMHO on the women's side the Summit is not nearly as highly regarded nationally as it should be so early season non conference wins against non Summit teams (even big name upper D1 programs) can be misleading. So the Summit teams need to adjust to the generally higher level of the competition in the Summit and realize no one is a pushover.
