Let's try the poll thing again.....
The Yotes are back on the upswing, with some red-hot shooting from a variety of players. Tulsa is a tough place to play, though, and The Golden Eagles are one of the better defenses in the conference. They just lost in OT to Western Illinois, another high-powered offense.
I could see a game similar to the SDSU game, a little lower scoring and physical. I could see a lot of fouling on their part, and I like our chances from the charity stripe. The question is which defense will show up on the road.

The Lady Yotes got that one conference loss under their belts now and they didn't like the taste of defeat... They are gonna step up their game from here on out. We saw that with Duffy last Saturday. She ramped up her game when Allison was struggling. There are others on this team that can do the same. Lady Yotes with the W against ORU.

I voted ORU this time around. Just don't have a good feeling about the game being on a weeknight and at a place that even our 2 time conference champs were unable to win at. I am very nervous about this road trip in general. I am circling around thoughts whether it's more likely that the Yotes get a sweep or get swept. I am guessing it will end up being a split with a loss at ORU and a bounce back win at Omaha. Winning at Omaha would certainly be no small feat either. If the Coyotes win in Tulsa any idea of a mid season slump would be busted apart at the seems. Going ORU 70-58.

Last time I predicted a loss for one of our basketball teams you had the same stupid response. Guess what ended up happening. Predictions aren't necessarily based on what the predictor wants to happen, just what he or she thinks will happen. Try a different response next time and try using a few brain cells next time in the response

Wouldn't it just be easier to "ban" Thumper 76 or am I wrong??

I think y'all are being a little hard on CF. really, what's the point of a poll if you expect everyone to vote one way? ORU is a tough team and a tough venue. Of course we all are rooting for a Coyote win (except some of the bunny fans on here).
This is a pretty small online community, and CF is a frequent contributor. Although he can be a bit long-winded I have grown to appreciate his commentary. Let's not "eat one of our own" even though we ARE Coyotes.

So many of his posts are so bad that I believe his absence would be a net gain for our community.

Does anyone know if the Yotes are favored? What do the advanced metrics folks say? Wouldn't be surprised if ORU was picked.

I don't always see a betting line with women's bb, and I don't see one here either. Sagarin has ORU ranked four spots above us, and Massey has us ranked 5 spots above them. Not sure about matchups, but that sounds like a "draw" to me. Home court usually adds a few points, so I would guestimate that they should be slight favorites? If we would be favored it wouldn't be by much.

Here are some quick matchup numbers:
USD is averaging 75.5 PPG vs ORU allowing 63.9 (average 70) ORU is averaging 70.6 PPG vs USD allowing 66.3 (average 68) = very slight advantage USD

Shooting%
USD FG/3pt: 46.6/37.6 vs ORU allowing: 38.5/29.7 (average 43%/34%) ORU FG/3pt: 41.5/32.6 vs USD allowing: 41.6/38.2 (average 42%/35%)
= push. Our bad 3-point defense looked a lot better against IUPUI, though. Maybe they have fixed it.
