Great West Release
Naperville, Ill. – South Dakota junior forward Amber Hegge has been named Great West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. It is the first weekly honor for Hegge.
Hegge (Crofton, Neb.) had an outstanding game in the Coyotes' 72-44 rout of Utah Valley on Jan. 22. Hegge recorded her second double-double (21 points, 12 rebounds) of the 2010-11 campaign in the Coyote win. She knocked down 63 percent (10-of-16) from the field with six of her 12 rebounds being on the offensive side. The forward also chipped in with four assists and three steals.
For the season, Hegge leads the Coyotes in scoring (16.6 points per game) and rebounding (7.1). She is the first Coyote to receive the weekly honor in 2010-11.
The Coyotes return to action on Thursday at home against Houston Baptist.
