Disappointing loss. I thought our passing was much tighter and smarter in the second half, which made the difference. We went from 15 down at the half to around 20 down right after, to climbing back into it. I was proud of their effort, but that first half killed them.
I think our motion offense had it's toughest test yesterday with that type of defense. Superman meet kryptonite. Seems like we figured out the matchup a little too late.
I'm willing to bet that how tight the officiating is in a particular game has a big say in whether WIU wins or loses a game, with how aggressive and handsy their defense is. If I remember correctly, In the tournament you tend to see it called a little looser, so WIU will probably be a tough matchup there too.
My first trip to the SCSC was great! I thought that was a pretty good turnout, comparitively. You guys are right that there really is no bad seats there. We got loud when we needed to at the end of the game, too. I see the official turnout was 2018. I'm sure with another 1,000 it would get really live in there. If for some reason we were to end up in the WNIT again, that place would be a really tough home court!
Bathrooms, consessions, all close. My favorite part was my son getting to shoot hoops on the court after the game. Great family atmosphere. Beautiful arena.

Felt like there was a huge hole in the middle of WIs defense. 10-12ft away. We passed the ball in there fairly often, but rarely took the shot, trying instead to kick back out. Easy for me to say sitting in stands, but sure looked open from where I was sitting.
Much better 2nd half. Thankfully, Omaha helped us out a little.

Anytime you turn the ball 15 times in a half, especially that many live ball turnovers, you should have no chance to win. Credit our team for making a run, but that first half was beyond bad, and lack of depth hurt us a bit with the foul trouble early.
