I don't think this needed official recognition.

I don't understand this either. It's not like there is a plan to setup a scheduling arrangement. When I heard about this I figured that the two conferences had an arrangement to schedule against each other for the purpose of this challenge. Such as in a future year the leagues would match up with each other in games based on the previous years order or finish in each conference. This is no different then having a logo to recognize when every team plays another FCS program. Call it a FCS football challenge recognizing all games within the division of college football. Basically recognizing 85% of the games played.

It's obviously after the fact, but no biggie to me. Just a way to market the conferences to the rest of the FCS I suppose...especially with this extended preseason waiting what feels like forever for gMe 1. On one hand I think we all know we should root for MVFC teams to win these games anyway, but it is also very hard to root for our rivals.

It's just in my blood and there is very little that could change that. I could root for all the other MVFC teams but I have to draw the line somewhere. The only reason I will root for them is if it directly benefits the Coyotes. Cheering for them just to make the Coyotes strength or schedule look a little tougher is not reason enough for me.

How about this? I am indifferent to the outcome of their OOC games.

But the fans became so arrogant and hostile, with indecent cheers, and etc. that I won't cheer for then again and won't change my mind even when we start playing in the MVFC. You beat them 2 years ago, do it again!

I don't think this needed official recognition. It's probably a little over the top, but there is a lot of attention paid to how the conferences do against each other.

I think when it comes to whether you cheer for a rival it depends on a variety of things. Honestly SDSU has had USD's number in the big sports and has probably won about 75% of those head to head games and most of the important ones. If you lose to a team that often it makes it very hard to root for them when not playing them. If we had beaten SDSU by the same percentage they are beating us then cheering for them would be not quite as difficult. I think the longer a fan has followed a rivalry can also influence their overall opinion of it. If USD happened to win 75% of the games for the next decade against the Jacks I think their would probably be more animosity from up north. I have never followed the Yotes in an era where they have had the advantage in the rivarly so I wouldn't know what it is like to be on the flip side of the coin. In my lifetime I have witnesses very few wins by the Coyotes over the Jacks head to head in football.

MVFC leads 5-2 after yesterday's games. Illinois State still has to travel to Northern Arizona in a few weeks. The wins for the Big Sky were UND over Missouri State and Southern Utah over UNI.

UND hosting Montanta State is now under way. It can be found on video. It is on Pluto TV which can be found by going through the main UND athletic web site. I had to register and download and App to get it to work.

North Dakota is looking horrible against Montana State and is losing 21-0 in the 2nd quarter. The Hawks have been injury prone and lost their great safety Reyes to injury as well. They certainly aren't responding well to having to sup in reserve players. MSU has a good quarterback Murray who is running all over the Hawks defense. The UND O has been pathetic after a good first drive to the game.
