I am very familiar with the University of Wisconsin, and I would encourage you to make reservations now for this fall, as home games fill up all the hotels, and then you would have to stay out of town.
There is a group of former players that are gonna stay at the DoubleTree in downtown Madison near State Street. Close to all the fun, and only a few blocks from the stadium.
Let's have a great representation there. If we can get enough Coyote boosters at DoubleTree, maybe we can get a conference room for a night before party?

Good idea, I'll see what I can do as far as Howling Pack goes.

Talked to the high ups and we'll probably try and do an informal gathering someplace, mabye the hotel maybe a bar. Someplace where they won't charge us to gather. Just as a reminder, starting next year priority points in the Howling Pack will mean a big thing. Getting tickets to these high profile games will depend on HP membership. Now is the time to join. Need a way to spend that tax refund, the HP is a way.

Maybe the alumni association can get something planned. Chicago isn't too far away from Madison and during my dayzzzz in the Windy City there was a pretty good group of Yotes that would get together every year or so.

I'm a little torn... My wife and I are grads of the U ('84 &'86) and my baby brother was a 'yote from '85-'90 during the Triplett era.
My son is a RS frosh DL with the Badgers, so you see the dilemma...
Will be attending the game at Camp Randall with said brother.
I know I gotta root for my kid's team but at the same time, how can I be supportive of my Alma Mater?
It does help to know that the Yotes will walk away with a fairly fat check.

You can be supportive as follows: 1) send a check to USD Howling Pack equal to the check Wisconsin will send to USD 2) threaten to beat up little brother if he, too, doesn't send a check to Howling Pack as large as Wisconsin's check.

wisconsin is afraid to play NDSU. good luck yotes, you'll need it. I doubt that it's fear, most likely its that that NDSU doesn't enter their thinking. I believe you may find that to be true throughout the Big Ten. Beating Minnesota is an accomplishment, but remember they are arguably the worst football program in the conference. As for yawning about coming to Vermillion, I'm old enough to have witnessed the dome crowd and the Yote defense whoopin up on the likes of Jeff Bentrim and Co. (you DO remember Jeff Bentrim, don't you? From the D2 "glory days") Poor guy couldn't hear himself think, and he didn't look bored- but I guess Vermillion probably ain't his favorite town either.

Unfortunately I remember Bentrim, particulary an option pitch he made in the playoff game at the Dome.

I think they refer to that at NDSU as "the pitch".

I've seen them post the link to the YouTube video over on Bisonville a few times. A sick play.
