Need a way to spend your tax refund? I have the answer. Your HP membership.
Even if it is only the White Club, your membership is invaluable to our student athletes. And starting this year, your priority points will mean a lot when it comes to home and away tickets.

Maybe USD could have a new policy. To be able to purchase tickets and/or gain access to the dome during games one must be a Howling Pack member. That way the membership levels would really rise. I agree that Howling Pack membership is vital to the University so requiring it to purchase tickets would be greatly beneficial to the bottom line. The seating availability would be based on what level you would give at
Something like as follows would entice fans and alumni to give even more and at higher levels. That way we would be sure to be able to pay our coaches properly as well such as the D-Coordinator postions.
The Directors Club gets the first 10 rows in section E The Gold Club gets the first 10 rows in sections D & F The Diamond Club gets rows 10-20 in section E and rows 11-15 in sections D & F The Silver Club gets rows 1-10 in sections G & C and rows 16-20 in sections D & F The Red Club gets rows rows 1-10 in sections H & B, rows 11-15 in sections G & C The Coaches Club gets all additional top row seats in sections C,D,E,F The White Club gets the upper rows in sections A,B,G & H
Another idea would be to have some sort of a closed circuit pay per view contract with Midco where Howling Pack members could receive televised games that would not be available to the general public. That way it would give USD fans even more reason to become members. The internet could be incorporated as well. Membership gives everyone free internet for audio and/or video to games. Maybe the radio broadcasts could be resticted to the internet only as another incentive for membership.
There are pleny of things that could be done to entice membership.
Maybe allow white members and coaches club internet audio Allow Red Club internet video Allow Silver Club and above closed circuit TV video
Same with the parking. Have certain areas of the lot be open to the different levels of giving. Generally the more you give the more less you would have to walk. Generally higher givers are older and need close spots. The White members can have the longer walks kind of like tiered parking.
A new arena could be incorporated with this level of thinking as well. The more you give the closer you sit. The students would probably have to take a hit by getting the rafter seats but money talks when it comes to the world of college athletics.

Yes, that was a sweet picture. I'd like to get a copy of the actual picture. That would be a nice auction item, a large framed copy of that print, or just mass produce it and sell it at the bookstore.

That is a great idea of the annual banquet auction in August. I also like the idea of making it availabe to the masses.

Question about the giving levels for the HP. One of the benefits is Purchase Priority Season Tickets. I'm guessing this not a benefit for the White Club I see it has a "2" starting at the Coaches club and increases by 2 (4,6,8,etc) as the levels go up. What exactly does this benefit mean?

Are you looking at an old form? The new form does not distinguish between the right to buy 2,4,6, 8 etc season tickets depending on your Club level. That was one thing that bothered me personally, why limit a young family of four who gives $300 to be in Coaches Club to just two tickets. They should be able to get 4 if they want to buy that many. The downside in getting rid of this limit/restriction is people in higher clubs could buy more seats to get their friends by them. But more seats is not really a bad thing, plus I don't see this happening because those other people are likely HP members too and they will want the points alloted to them, which wouldn't happen if a high dollar donor bought a bunch of seats. You only get credit if you buy them yourself. So I don't see it happening.
What I do see happening is those in the White or Coaches Club are now not limited to 1 or 2 seats, they can buy 4 season tickets for the whole family. It should increase sales at the lower club levels, not affect sales at the higher levels. Just my two cents though, and although it was met with some hesitance at our last meeting, this was the route decided upon.
Hope that helps ya. I think you are looking at last years form. Good question.

I was looking at the form linked to the HP website. So what is the ruling now? White club does not get priority. Priority starts at Coaches club and above and there is no limit? Considering bumping up to the Coaches Club this year regardless, just wondering what the structure will be. FWIW I'm getting the family four pack. I only have one child but I always seem to have an extra kid along. I don't see priority seating being an issue right now, especially where my seats are at, rather I am looking to the future. Is the HP deadline for next year April 30? Read that on the site as well. So only one week left to renew for next year. Seems it was later last year, like June or something. www.howlingpack.com/Content/Howling%20Pack%20Giving%20Levels%20and%20Benefits%202010.pdf

Reminder of deadline for priority points for football season tickets. Pledge needs to be received by May 16th. You can still pledge after May 16th, you just will be down the list when it comes to getting season tickets.
