22-19 ISU after 1st quarter. Iowa State had a double digit lead but the Coyotes responded.

ISU leads in Q1 22-19. Coyotes are 7-8 from the charity stripe. Iowa hitting their threes early, and had the early big lead, but Coyotes offense starting to come around.....
Trimboli leads with 7 pts.

Raise your hand if you had Frederick, Liveringhouse and Lamb leading the team in field goal attempts. Surprising start to the season but a good one.

The Coyotes have rallied to take a 40-37 halftime lead. Based on the radio call the tempo seems rather fast in this game. It does look like Lamb and M Arens are the two freshman playing the most. Korngable and Kunzer I don't believe have played. Iowa State has the size advantage so I don't mind the Yotes launching those bombs from out side. The Coyotes certainly aren't overwelmed by the Cyclones. Will having depth pay off as soon as today? We very well might see within an hour.
I have a good feeling about the second half. Can I change my prediction :-)

Raise your hand if you had Frederick, Liveringhouse and Lamb leading the team in field goal attempts. Surprising start to the season but a good one. One of the big reasons for the early deficit was because Liveringhouse and Frederick were throwing up 3's and missing them. Maybe I am way off but I would rather have Arens and Bradley taking those shots. The other two seem to be better closer to the basket but I guess the players are very interchangeable. Trimboli seems to be on her game to start the year. I haven't really heard Caitlin Duffy's name mentioned much. Apparently Bradley wasn't feeling well coming into the game and her minutes were supposed to be limited but it seems like she was out there quite a bit.

I would tend to agree that Frederick and Liveringhouse casting from deep will not be a recipe for long-term success.

Coyotes now lead 47-39 and are really playing well.

I'm watching the game online. Iowa State really isn't trying to get the ball inside much which is good for USD. I am impressed by the rebounding by the Yotes as they have been in good position all day. AA looks a little tight which shows by the fact she has 6 TOs already.

The tornadoes are on a bit of a run but it is still 54-51 Coyotes after 3.

4:31 to go in regulation and it is 61-61. Good one.

Yotes down 5 with 1 min left and Lamb misses a layup and rolls her ankle. Korngable in the game for the 1st time.
Edit: Lamb came back in, must be ok

Yotes down 7 with 36 seconds left. Let this one get away.

Cyclones shooting 61% from the floor and from the arc. Hard to overcome that.

I question the decision making that goes into Liveringhouse, Frederick and Lamb outshooting your three leading scorers from last year 35-15.
