Anyone check what tickets are selling for at the Nicholls game? Wondering what typical cost of tickets would be for a playoff game...? How much would tickets have been if the Yotes had hosted?

I seen an opening line of USD favored by 20.5 points. The team should never take any opponent lightly, but it's clear in my mind that we should win this one comfortably.

If you take a playoff game lightly, you deserve to get beat. We are winless in the last 3 weeks. No reason at all this team should take anyone lightly. In fact I think they will do the opposite and make a statement that we belong here and this is how we really play ball at USD. The idea that anyone is worried that we will take Nicholls St. lightly seems very silly to me.
Go Yotes!

flagshipU--Great point about it being special for an FCS team to be playing during Thanksgiving break! It's easy to forget that there are 123 FCS teams so 99 are watching from home!!!

This is from the UNI message board: "The NCAA uses the following factors in determining which institutions will host playoff games: Quality and availability of facility; Revenue potential, which includes minimum financial guarantees of $30,000, $40,000 and $50,000 for the first-round, quarterfinal and semifinal contests, respectively, with consideration given to revenue potential in excess of the minimum guarantees; Attendance history and potential; Team performance, with strong consideration of conference place finish; Head-to-head results with opponents; and non-Division I schedule"
I have a hard time believing that Nichols State outbid us, but maybe they have a big booster that contributed some $$ to make it happen. Maybe some of the other factors above came into play. Are the bids made public after the fact?
Then again, maybe USD, knowing that other teams not used to playing in domes seem to have a lot of cramping issues, decided in the spirit of good sportsmanship to play all playoff games on the road.

The Manning Family are Nicholls donors. Maybe they stepped up and made a big contribution to ensure they got a first round game.

I am actually surprised that the NCAA or FCS or whatever doesn't do an auction format of bidding. As soon as a match up is made but before it is announced I think the bidding should take place via conference call. I believe in that format that the bids may very well be higher than it would be under the current format.

Any word on tickets for the game and or if UF wil be offering any travel packages? Bus/airfare? I can't go to Nichols, but if we move on I would be very interested in some sort of charter to Sam Houston State. Can't justify paying for a flight but I'd happily hop on a bus full of Yote fans. Anyone know if that could happen? No idea who organizes these sort of things.

I've been thinking about driving to Thibadaux, or however it's spelled, if anyone else was going. Just hate to miss this game. I've had "Born on a Bayou" in my head ever since Sunday.
