First we lose Middleton to Kent State, now O'Boyle has followed suite. I know that changes to coaching staffs are a part of the business, but those are two tough losses. I'm sure that Nielson will do a good job of backfilling with talented coaches. Hopefully we don't lose any recruits in the process.

Actually, I think losing only two coaches in two years is a very good track record. These people don't have the attachments to USD that we have so they are looking to better themselves in the profession. Who wouldn't? O'Boyle was a successful head coach at Chadron and I'm sure he'd like to run his own show again before he calls it a career. Middleton is young and still climbing the ladder and I'm sure this is a pay raise and good exposure. Trivia: both coached together at Chadron so there's been a connection before USD. I'm not worried a bit about filling the positions. Both areas are filled with young talent that would be fun to coach and I'm sure that Nielson has plenty of connections to bring in someone who's very capable.

I hope we can replace them with two more coaches who are able to get promotions in the near future. Good problem to have.

Staff turnover happens at all levels of football. I am sure we will have a list of quality candidates to fill their positions. I wish them both good luck in the future.
I am still a bit amazed that Kent State's name has come up so many times this off season with regards to USD coaches.

Very cool. Dante is a great person and will be solid as a GA.
