I listened to the game since I had to go to Verm to pick up some stuff. USD's offense wasn't clicking and fell behind 15-4 and 17-7 early, but USD's defense just dominated Utah Valley and in the last four minutes, USD's offense really started clicking to pull away. On a night the offense wasn't there, the Coyotes defense adjusted early and kept USD in the game. Great win.

Yep good win for the ladies. One thing that has never been a question, or at least barely ever is the defense.

I haven't had much time to reflect on the women's game but USD seemed to learn from the second half of the Chicago State game and as a more prior example the game at UND. They have been playing alot better in the second half as of late on the road. That is a good sign. These games were losses last year that are now wins this year. This game put USD in a situation where they shouldn't finish any worse than 3rd in the conference which is nice because that would able them to avoid the champ until a potential tourney final game. Ryun has done a good job as of late with the team.

This is the same job Ryun Williams has been doing with the team for 3 years honestly......why just of late do you notice him? I don't get why you have to find ways to take pop shots at Williams. Do you just not like him or something?

I don't know how you get that I was taking a pot shot at all against Ryun Williams with that last post. I think you are grasping at straws with those comments. What do you want me to say. The women struggled quite a bit last year and have improved. There is a long ways to go to determine if Ryun is the right coach to lead the ladies to success in the Summit league. He is doing well right now but the Lady Coyotes have not exactly lit the world on fire through the transition, especially compared to what the team up North was doing at this point in their transition.
I gave Ryun Williams and the women credit. Isn't that what you have been preaching. CF#1 you seem to want to lay all the blame on me for everything that happens on here but you my friend are not innocent in these message board ordeals. You seem to like to get things started just as much if not more than I do.

"williams has done a good job of late" That was the statement. You are just discounting his first year too.
How about you look at Lavin's first three years that he lead the Coyotes in his second go-round. It's not that great at all honestly. Plus, he came back to USD after not really finding that much success at the D-I level. Lavy had a lot of success, i know that and the team he built on his second run was from scratch, just like Williams had to do, and he is doing damn well with it compared to that.
Remember, Williams is the one who coached Wayne State past North Dakota so there wouldn't be that fourth meeting in the regional tournament. Just saying.

It seems like the WBB team and coach WIlliams are starting to find a comfort level. Great win and push forward to the conference tournament.

What does everyone think of this team’s chances of beating Chicago in the tournament? I would like to think that we would be able to hang with them and perhaps win the entire thing? Does the winner of this year's tournament get an auto bid into the WCIT again?

I don't know if the GW WWB has any ties to a post season tourney. UVU won the tourney last year but didn't think they played past that.

UVU played South Dakota State in the opening round of the tournament this year at the beginning of the season. Sorry it was not the WCIT but the WNIT. UVU lost to SDSU 87-38. I thought UVU made it to the tournament because they won the Great West?

Gothca. That would be great to get an auto invite to next years preseason WNIT.

The women are really looking strong lately. They are starting to figure it out and the biggest upside is that they only lose one player next year so the team chemistry they build this year is a major plus looking ahead to the Summit league schedule.

There is no women's CIT unfortunately. Just the WNIT and the national tourny. I think USD could see a preseason WNIT invite if they win the GW though, not sure though.
