Well, Well, Well was that an ass whipping. The Coyotes absolutely deserve credit for this win but in all my years of watching this rivalry in basketball have a I ever seen the Jacks play a worse game then they did tonight. It was like Vikings vs Eagles. The road team makes it easy and get 3 quick threes early and after that it was home team all the way. The Jacks did not come ready to play tonight and I hope they didn't get all of their misfortunes and bad play out of their system in one game. If there was one thing that can be taken from this game is that good defensive teams are almost always good defensively. Good offensive teams can come and go with their shooting. The crappiest thing about this is that the Jacks are not going to lay an egg like this again, probably the rest of the year. I certainly hope this is the beginning of their downfall but they will have plenty to say about the rest of the year. early on I was a little worried and it was a very NBA'ish game at the beginning. Both teams were just settling for outside shots and I was worried that if the Coyotes decided to play a game of target practice that it wasn't going to end well against a team that is probably better at outside shooting. The Jacks had their Ole' defense in high gear and were plenty lazy. The Coyotes just simply would not be denied. I thought overall that the level of play tonight did not match the level of play last year at the SCSC as the Jacks played a hell of a game in defeat. Basically this game was handed to the Coyotes on a silver platter and they obliged by yanking that platter away. What this does is put the Coyotes in good position to get at worst the #2 seed unless there is a significant collapse which I do not see happening. With the win over the Jacks the Coyotes are going to own any tie breakers against other teams in the conference in case another team makes a run. It also puts the tie breaker against the Jacks into play as well. If the Jacks win the rematch we have to hope that NDSU continues to lose because if you have a loss you actually want it to come to a team that finishes as low as possible in the standings. Lets say the Jacks and Yotes finish both with 2 losses. If the Jacks lose to a team that finished ahead of NDSU in the standings the Coyotes could win a tie breaker. If they win in Brookings the Yotes will for sure own any tie breaker. Now it is time to build on this and beat them in March when it counts the most. Oh what do you know... our biggest "fan" is back on the bandwagon...

Fan is obviously short for fanatic. I define that term. Fans can typically get very high after wins and very low after losses. It's the name of the game. I still think this game is just a warm up to the tourney in Sioux Falls. I am just as excited for the enhanced opportunity that today's game created for a Saturday first round and an off day on Sunday as I am just simply the win tonight. The win is gravy but this year is all about one thing. Sioux Falls will make or break this season and that is the way it should be for the fans and the team.

He actually gave the Yotes credit for the win? Or did he give the bunnies credit for bad play?

The reason State looked so bad tonight CF is because they played the best defensive team in the conference. That's what the game was looking like at the SLT last year until the refs took over in the 2nd half. I about shit my pants when they called a charge and a travel on Daum. He commits those violations all the time but they never get called in conference. TBM played big tonight on the defensive end. Hell, basically everyone that played major minutes played really good. It really pisses me off we dropped that home game to NDSU, it will probably force us to have to sweep state to win conference.

That was a blast. The Mitchell Kernel in me knows Coach Munsen was probably watching that game somewhere in the afterlife smiling as defense shuts down an offensive juggernaut.

I'll bet we don't see any bunny posters commenting on the game for a few days. They'll check in to see what we're saying about them, but they won't post. They are comfortable knowing CF is here trolling for them.

Great game plan by Smith IMO. Outside of the first few minutes, Daum couldn't get going. The Yotes double teamed and trapped him down low, and rather than pass out of it he forced the shot. They jus wouldn't let the Jacks get comfortable or penetrate the lane. The Jacks kept hitting the floor, and the refs didn't take the bait.
The ball movement on offense was outstanding. They used speed and passing against size, and it opened up the middle. After that, the perimeter game opened up, and Simpson and Mooney got hot.
Great game!

Well, that was enjoyable. The guys said in the press conference that Craig told the team post game to enjoy the game until midnight and to get ready to move on tomorrow. He’s right - there is a lot of ball left- and Denver is the type of team that could sneak up on us Saturday night. My thoughts: - Fuller is an absolute unsung hero to this point this season. You can see his confidence rise each game. - Mooney is less selfish this year and is taking more quality shots. The funny thing with Matt is that even when he wants to take a crazy shot he usually makes it. It seems as if he is allowing the offense to play out more. - TBM’s offensive performance is down this season - BUT that is okay if he continues to play the kind of defense he played tonight down the stretch. It’s not easy to hang in there and go blow-for-blow with Daum all night. Kudos. - Rebounds were huge. A few weeks ago we watched NDSU take rebounds on both ends. Not tonight. 42 total boards. - Craig is always talking about charting and stats. We have not played the prettiest all season but you can see we are continuing to trend upward each game since NDSU. - We always have a hard time getting to the line against State. Opposite of our MO. - expect to see a completely different team of bunnies in a few weeks.
Remember folks, it’s a marathon - not a sprint.

I don't care what you say. That. Felt. Good.
Side note: enjoyed Tellinghuisen flipping me off and telling me to f*** myself and making fun of me beer belly.
I like Busch light. Where's the crime? #MyBeerBelly

We will soon find out if the Coyote D is more responsible for the game tonight or if the Jacks just playing a bad game is more responsible. It is probably some of both. I have a feeling that the script will be flipped in Brookings. The Jacks will be much more fired up and looking for revenge and the Coyotes won't play as well in Frost. The rubber game will decide the better team. Now watch neither team will win the Summit Tourney and a team like NDSU will come out on top.

GREAT GAME by the COYOTES on both the D & O ends of the court!! I thought after first 8 minutes D set the tone and helped set up O opportunities. Really a complete TEAM win with D, ball movement, balanced scoring, etc.... GO YOTES!!!

Any questions? Didn't think so. USD is still the best team in the Summit, and convincingly so.
ag school is able to dauminate lesser competition, but faltered in a big way against a superior team. They were obscenely fortunate to get the results they did against us last year. Both teams shot well tonight. Too bad USD has a complete game to offer.
You'd think their greatest strength would pair well against our weakest position. Enjoyed seeing the refs grow some balls and called Daum for traveling and two offensive fouls. I felt like I was in the damn twilight zone.
I look forward to embarrassing the bunnies (worst name ever) again on national television in March.

They play well in the SCSC but play terrible in Fargo. Some nights their offense is lights out, while others they just stand around and wait for Paul to take a shot.

Tonight was a blast. I really hope that the electric atmosphere tonight convinces some fans to actually come back for other games.
My tickets are 9th row behind the visitors bench, and everyone (that wasn't a visiting fan in front of me) was up and standing most of the night. I love that. I'd stand the entire game every game if it didn't upset everyone behind me. If everyone would act like this every game, then every game would be just as entertaining.
And let me tell you, being near the one group of blue, I had a blast laughing my ass off at the Vikings-esque performance the aggies put out there tonight. They were chirpy for a few minutes...and then were completely overcome.
