Think the attendance numbers are going to be up this year? The new AD seems like he is committed to getting things going in that department. We will see.
Hope the win at UM helps get more in the seats for the first game.
My guess is somewhere around 7500-8000 in attendance this Saturday.

I am thinking the first game might struggle for 8,000 because it's NW Okie State, but after that I would expect the Dome to be packed for everyone of the games USD has. Basically a sell-out I would think because of the quality of the team and the quality of the schedule. I think last year's attendance can be crushed.
Also, Sayler did say how much he wants to get the fans in the stadium, especially on the students side and he wants them cheering all game. He said he is going to work hard to promote the game to students more and work to get them in the seats for a better game-time atmosphere. Hopefully having Coyote Village there will help as well.

I agree, and I'm happy Saylor is making mention of the student section. I saw an email sent to all students about SPREAD THE RED fridays on campus.
I'm guessing 6,500 tomorrow, and 9,000 for DDays. Northern Iowa could be tricky with it being Opening Pheasant weekend.

Hasn't USD been averaging 7,500-8,000 over the past couple of years. Those numbers are with a schedule that hasn't been the best but this year the home schedule features 4 very good games. I am usually conservative in the numbers but I am going to say 8,000 for tomorrows game and 9,000 for the average yearly attendance. I think it's possible that Dakota Days will draw 10,000.

I am bringing two friends who have never been to a USD game tomorrow. Taking them to Carey's for a beer, we're tail-gating, then taking in the show. These guys are stoked up.
Got another friend who lives in the Cities to join the Howling Pack this week.
I am not a saleman by any stretch either. Everyone else can do the same thing. Get it done. Go 'Yotes!

I think you guys will be surprised at how good the turnout is tomorrow, even if it is NW Okie. There is an absolute buzz and anticipation for Saturday's game around town.
If the turnout isn't big I will be shocked.

Would be great if our normal game attendance and atmosphere was like a typical D-Days, and our big game atmosphere sets new records.
I really think that is where the Game Day experience is headed. No reason the Dome could not and should not sell completely out every time with the current seating setup.
I think more seating will become more and more of an issue very soon.
I know UNI is on the pheasant opener, but I am hoping the fans realize the quality of that opponent. I would also expect UNI to travel well to the game.

Game times have been moved back to 4:05 for all games but DDays (still at 2) just for that reason. No more hunting excuses. Get your hunting in that morning, get your butt to the Dome that afternoon.
You are right in that every gameday could be a D-Days style experience if the students, especially, wanted it to be that way.
