It sounds like NDSU is reducing their student section by 500 some seats to sell to the general public. They cited lack of student interest and inability to even sell out the student section for some games as the reason along with students leaving games early when they have such high demand from the general public for tickets.
If NDSU cant get students to their football games there is no hope for any other school to get a high interest from students. The tool bag from KDLT who asked the question at the Todd Lee intro should read more about the NDSU change. Maybe it will better allow him to understand the true scope of the issue nationally.

We can also point to Nick Saban ragging on the students. It's a generational shift. The children of the digital age just aren't as interested in going to the game.

I agree. And the student section shrinking to meet ticket demand at NDSU reminds me of what has happened at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Selling more tickets is fine, but marginalizing the students isn't a great policy in the long run, IMHO. Hell, look at the premium seats the GCU student section gets at their BB games. Right at midcourt. (they fill up the whole side, obviously) Those are digital-oriented millenials, too.
Maybe they give them all ecstasy and cocaine before the game. Who knows? Whatever they are doing is working. That's better than the alternative of giving up on them, I think.
