I'm older so some of you don't remember Warren Moon but he was very good in the CFL then moved to the NFL and was great so it certainly happens. I'm even older so most of you don't remember Joe Kapp who followed the same path as Warren Moon. It can and has been done numerous times.

There's over 1,000 additional NFL roster spots for training camp. Does anyone else think Streveler was in the top 1000 draft prospects?

I tried to find someone predating Kapp so that I could continue a string of one-ups, but came up empty handed. Cheers to the poster remembering guys of the pre-merger NFL.

Computers are sometimes helpful--In checking I was surprised to see that Joe Theismann even though drafted by Miami in 1971 opted to play 3 years in the CFL before joining the Redskins in 1974.

There are different paths to the NFL--I know the Vinatieri family and remember being at their house in 1996 and them watching Adam kick for the NFL Europe Amsterdam Admirals. The next year he was a Patriot. Some players came out of the old USFL, etc. Really like FB so always wished that there would be a viable U.S. spring professional league in addition to the NFL.

I got to have a beer with Joe Kapp in Minneapolis during Super Bowl week. Great guy to talk to. The only sports story he wanted to tell me was the time he played basketball against Bill Russell in college. His parting words to my friend and I were "Stay tough and keep smiling."

There is the new Alliance of American Football and, of course, the XFL 2.0 is supposed to be starting up.
