Before you say that the thread title is overly dramatic, consider putting yourself in the position of the ORU team. Would you be excited to take on the Yotes on their home floor right now? I thought so. Massey has us winning 77-57, and I can't argue much with that. I think our girls will be well prepared for this game, and will want to show they are playing much better defense than when we last tangled with the Golden Eagles. For their part, ORU can still be a dangerous arc-shooting team, so we can't sleep on them. I just don't think they have the size or physicality in the paint to close out a game on Sjerven and Frederick.

After watching the adjustments the defense made on Lakota Beatty down the stretch in Tulsa, I would think there will be a great deal of double teaming around the arc at the start of the game to take the eagles out of rhythm early. Yotes win Yotes win!!!

I do not want to be presumptive, as it is obviously clear that ORU can get hot and make this a tight game. But I do feel it is time to address an obvious weakness for this team: the end of the bench gives up huge leads. I'm afraid that when we get to the postseason a smart coach will get down by 35 so that the end of the bench comes in and then Boom. They make their run.

Down 7 at half? Omaha didn't even score 7 in the first half.

Not sure why we bring out the best of ORU 3 point shooting. Most of them are contested and deep. They are 10 of 16 at the half and 3 of 12 inside the arc. More concerning is getting out rebounded 20 to 13.

Nice to see the team’s leaders making clutch plays in the 4th quarter

Sounds like Sjerven and Lamb both played with tweaked/rolled ankles, so the week off will be a blessing. Luckily we have good training staff and facilities.

Even though the full game stats may not reflect it, it was an incredible pleasure to watch the team battle through a tough offensive game and find a way to win. Determination and a never say die attitude was the difference. Great Job ladies, now get some rest and get healed up. Go Yotes!!!

I always worry about cold shooting the game after blowing someone out. We were missing so many easy shots early and frankly I wasn’t as worried about the conference title or seeding as much as RPI had we lost. But they finally dug in and woke up. I’m perfectly ok not playing ORU again this season.

Allison Arens had a deceptively good game. Played 36 minutes but had 7 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. All while guarding the other teams hot players throughout the games. Thank You Allison for doing whatever it takes to help the team win, without complaining about not always having to score the most points!!!

Random thoughts: -a game like this is infinitely more fun than a game like the UNO blowout -Chloe Lamb might have had her best all around game today. She kept us in it the first half -ditto on what announcer bob said (cool moniker, by the way) -Taylor Frederick did a really good job defensively in the second half when she had to guard the perimeter after some switches. She was able to get stops on #10 several times. Impressive for a post player. -really nice to see Duffy take over the game in the fourth quarter. defense, boards and 14 points...that what she needs to do. Love it when that caliber player imposes her will on the outcome. Shout out to McKeever too. She came up big on several occasions. -pat yourself on the back, Coyote fans. Good crowd who was really into it, especially in the fourth quarter. I truly think it helped momentum. -I was surprised and extremely happy when Sjerven came back in. It didn't look good when she went out and that would have been...not good. Like kiyoat said, a week off will be nice.
