Denver struggling offensively. Are we affecting that or are they just cold? (I’m just following live stats.)

Denver struggling offensively. Are we affecting that or are they just cold? (I’m just following live stats.) I've always been of the mindset that when a team is having an "off night " shooting a lot of credit should be given to the defense. We had some really good defensive stops all game. Loven really didn't hurt us too bad and we controlled Romanowski for the most part. Only blot on the defensive side tonight was getting burned on three or four backdoor cuts during the first half, but something must have been said at halftime because it wasn't an issue after that. I will say that Denver does have some shooters and that they're more than capable of going off on anyone. They won't go quietly in the tournament.

These refs are struggling. Both ways. Tough game to officiate although they could have cleaned it up in the lane quite a bit. When we entered to the post, Denver would just swarm, double sometimes triple teaming and, it seemed to me anyway, that there was a lot aggressive contact. Sjerven and Frederick couldn't make a move to the basket and even had a tough time passing out. Nothing was being called so might as well keep doing it. There also seemed to be a unusually large number of offensive fouls called on both teams.

Tough physical win for the Lady Yotes and obviously a lot better defensive game than in Denver! Denver is the 11th best scoring team and 3 pt shooting team in the nation (of 349 teams), so they're a tough challenge to defend.
So great focus Coyotes!!

I was out of town but watched the entire game on ESPN+. Here’s my observations ( take them for what they’re worth...I’m a football guy )
1.) MVP....Arens.Arens.Duffy.Lamb.McKeever.Tjerven.Frederick.Korngable. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team at any level in any sport be as talented, selfless, and balanced as this team is. I’m honestly amazed.
2.) They LOVE playing together. It’s really obvious, even to a novice, how much fun they’re having together.
3.) They LOVE playing for this staff. They listen and take in whatever Coach P says,or the assistants for that matter.
4.) They are SMART. Not only on the floor but classroom as well. They play smart.
5.) They are humble. There doesn’t seem to be a huge ego on the team. If something goes against them they just suck it up to get it back. If someone falls they pick them up. This is the ULTIMATE TEAM. Many lessons could be taken by coaches from all sports in observing this team.
6.) This team is dynamic. They can go off at any point. In the same breath they can have bad nights like any team. They just don’t have many.
I have no clue how the game Sunday will turn out, nor how the SLT will turn out. SDSU is equally as good and have a very talented team. My hope is that between these girls and the fans ( like us ) don’t put an exorbitant amount of pressure on them. They’ll put enough on themselves.
To the staff on this team....you are AWESOME. Thank you for producing a team as talented as this, as much fun to watch, and one that young girls can look up to as role models. In that regard you are the top ranked team in the country.
Best of luck Sunday, but regardless of the outcome, there’s simply none better in my mind.

Here’s a question for those that saw the game (BTW, pro tip if you missed it: you can watch the replay on the espn app),
Between ORU, Denver and WIU; which team do we least want to meet for a third time in the tournament?
My take: All three are dangerous arc-shooting teams, and well-coached. Although we lost to Denver, I think ORU is the bigger threat with the way they play defense. WIU is the weakest, and can be bullied in the paint.
Not sure why ORU has played us so tough, but keep in mind their coach has been there as long as AJ has been at State. (As an assistant) She has seen a lot.

Denver and Western seem to be lacking that.
