The Ivy League has canceled spring sports as you can see in the article below. I've read that they had already postponed Spring Football. Has anyone heard anything about Yote Spring Ball being postponed?
Ivy League Cancels Spring Sports Amid Coronavirus Concerns
Nick Selbe1 hour ago
Ivy League presidents announced Wednesday that all spring sports practices and competitions would be canceled through the end of the academic year, a decision reached by unanimous vote. The league's statement cited "further developments in the outbreak of COVID-19" as the reason behind the decision.
For winter teams still in competition, individual schools would make determinations on whether or not to participate in postseason play. This would include Yale men's basketball and Princeton women's basketball, which are set to play in their respective NCAA tournament. Yale coach James Jones says the team is currently planning on participating in the tournament, according to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports. It would be the program's fourth NCAA tournament appearance in six seasons.
The Ivy League is the first conference to outright cancel spring sports in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. The league will likely request a blanket waiver for an extra year of eligibility for spring sports athletes, according to Dana O'Neil of The Athletic.
The announcement comes a day after the Ivy League canceled its men's and women's basketball tournaments, which was just one of many similar cancellations and adjustments made throughout the sports world. Several events will be held without spectators in attendance, while others have been canceled altogether.
Among the spring sports, the Ivy League's absence might be felt most profoundly in men's lacrosse. The league has three teams ranked in the top five of the latest NCAA rankings: Cornell (No. 2), Princeton (No. 3) and Yale (No. 5).

I'd bet that spring ball is on unless you hear USD decide to close the campus like those Ivy schools have.

I won’t be surprised if spring break gets extended a week...at least.

I won’t be surprised if spring break gets extended a week...at least. Yeah, given the rapid responses over the last 48 hours I'm getting a lot less confident in spring ball.

Online classes for the rest of the semester. It's just a matter of time before this is announced for every college campus.

I heard over this past weekend they have already been shut down/postponed due to some positive test cases. I cannot confirm the accuracy of that information. I had an entire diatribe written out. Instead I will just post a link to the CDC charting the number of deaths week to week. Interpret the information how you wish. www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#AgeAndSex

I was even more stunned that not only does it show COVID deaths dropping like a rock, but total deaths are well below pre-COVID totals. Then I saw same week totals in May 2020 vs. 2019 were also much lower in 2020. So I looked into some of the details/notes....and my balloon was popped.
TL;DR - the death totals and cause of death take a long time to get to the CDC, apparently, so the chart is only mostly accurate through some time in April. Why they publish incomplete data is beyond me...
Quick question - has the athletic department posted how it is handling positive cases? Y53 implies the whole practice is shut down vs. isolation, testing, etc. Just wondering.
