The draft will be held April 17th. It's a 3 round draft. In two I reviewed Ciara is listed as an early to mid 3rd round pick.
Good luck Ciara!!

I've heard her in two recent interviews say that her basketball days are over, and she's ready to move on to the next phase of her life. She's getting married in July and they will be living in Omaha, where her fiancé teaches. She's already looking for work there. When pressed about the possibility of playing pro overseas, she acknowledged that she could do that if she wanted, but isn't interested. Unfortunately, I haven't heard an interviewer press her about the possibility of being drafted, and what she would do if it happened. She said her fiancé is supportive of her pursing professional BB, but she has declined his offer. Says her body is beat up, and its time to heal and move on. I have not heard her say she's taken herself out of the draft (or however that works), but effectively she has done exactly that. As a fan, that's disappointing, but you can certainly respect her decision and her conviction. She's an amazing woman, and will excel at whatever she does in life. She did add that she will have a presence in gyms around Omaha playing pickup games, etc. I pity the guy or gal who thinks they can guard her!

Well, we certainly benefited from the fact that her aspirations to play with her sister, and play for her home state trumped her aspirations to play for a Power-5 school (which she had opportunity to do).
I'd call her current decision a "healthy perspective" just like her past decisions. The fact that WNBA players are woefully underpaid probably made her decision a little easier, as well.
I hope we hear about her in the future, continuing to move mountains, break barriers and make those around her better.
