I’m not savvy at this so I’m going to ask someone that is to set up a poll. I would like everyone’s opinion at what you’d like to see for starting game times. Our schedule usually has 2:00 pm starts. Does everyone like that or would you like to see the athletic department consider alternative times? Maybe use the following times to poll and everyone pick a 1st and 2nd choice. Also verbal feedback on what you like and why.
Times:
Noon 2:00 4:00 7:00
Please contribute on this and try to ascertain if any changes should be considered. I realize Mid-Co has a lot to do with it but just assume they would accommodate whatever the department wanted.
I like 2 pm but also would like to consider a night game as well.

I would not like 7 or noon. Noon would mean leaving home too early, and tailgate opening at 10 is hard enough to get up for with kids. 7 means you get home waaay too late.
I actually asked USD to consider a 2:30 or 3 kickoff for Ddays. As a Greek alumnus, it is very hard to attend the parade and have a fraternity function for alumni AND do tailgate. Even if you aren’t Greek, there isn't a lot of time between parade and game. I understand the coaches don’t want to wait around all day for kickoff though.

As a Norwegian alumnus, I like the 2 p.m. kick-off time.

I imagine anyone bringing kids to a game is going to be in the 2 or earlier camp. We have an experience that is very family friendly compared to larger schools (i.e. cost and access), but that wouldn't be true with later times. Especially for those driving an hour to and from.
Me personally, I prefer later games. Night games have a different vibe (even if you can't see the sky in the Dome). Even a 4 PM kickoff would be preferable because of the added tailgating time. I swear kickoff sneaks up on me every time. I liked the complete lack of urgency I experienced at later games I've attended on the road.

Game times have been moved and shifted around over the years and the consensus between fans and the athletic department is that we have settled on 2 PM as being the optimal time for all. I've had this discussion with David Herbster myself, the consensus is that 2 PM hits that sweet spot and I don't expect it to change anytime soon.
It's to the point my body is now conditioned for a 2PM kickoff when it comes to gameday.

I can live with 2 with the occasional variation. It gives you time to have lunch, clean up the mess, put away coolers, and get inside for kickoff.
For those who like later starts, with graduation now being scheduled for the UNI game I have been told to plan for a later start, likely 4.

I’m just throwing the question out there to see if there’s any interest. Quite frankly I’ve had people ask me why there aren’t more night games. Although I prefer 2 myself, maybe others don’t.

My answer probably doesn't carry any importance to you since I am a Rabbits fan, but since our game times vary, I will toss out my perspective. I really like our 6 pm kickoffs earlier in the season. My one-way commute to and from Brookings is a little over six hours, and yes, I do have season tickets. A lot of SDSU fans make similar trips which contributes to our low attendance later in the season. I like being able to leave on Saturday morning and make it to Brookings in time to see a few friends before entering the stadium. Football on pleasant September and October evenings makes for a great game day experience.

We had a later game in 2018 and I loved being able to comfortably leave on Saturday morning.

Consideration needs to be given to them as well. I live 2 hours from the Dome and never miss a game so I don’t care. Actually would like watching games at tailgate in the afternoons some days. Great advantage to home team as visitors with long commutes would have angst waiting all day in either SF and Sioux City and that would make them jumpy

I think a 4 start is perfect! More time to tailgate and for those like me traveling from out of town. It’s a nice balance between a day and a night game. I do like a sprinkle of night games in there as well. I think 2 is too early. I am not sure what is best for the players though and that is the most important!
