Hi all,
In advance of the start of the season. I want to do a impact newcomers brought to you by the fan forums story for the website. So I am going to pick two players who are new this season (transfer or freshman) for each team, but they are going to be chosen by the members of the fan forums. So I am hoping everyone here can chime in with their top two newcomers and why. I will take what seems to be the consensus top two and add quotes that are commented below along with a link to the forum site for other fans to check out. So who are your top two USD newcomers this season. As I said I will be posting the story Monday the 16th so will begin working on prior to that. We may even add as a podcast topic.

I’m probably most intrigued to see A. J. Plitzuweit and Mason Archambault.
Besides both having hard-to-spell three-syllable last names, they have a few other things in common. Both are SD locals, playing at Vermillion and Rapid City Stevens High Schools. Both are high efficiency shooters, good ball handlers, and both should be PG prospects, along with the returning backup PG, Sophomore Kruz Perot-Hunt.

This is a tough one since I'm guessing that outside of Umude and Chisolm, everyone who will get big minutes will be a transfer. I'll vote for the three we've been waiting for the longest: Plitzuweit, Koster, and Heiman. Runner up to the Juco trio of Archambault, Anderson, Fuller.

Koster - interested to see how his talent adjusts to Mid Major BB. Fuller - seemed to be regarded highly in JUCO circuit.
Will be interested in reading about ANY of the Coyote newcomers, as we do have a few!

Most excited to see AJ Plitzuweit play. Watched him play a few times in high school, thought he was a stud. I was disappointed when we didn't offer him out of high school, very excited to see if he can compete at this level. I'm convinced he can, but I've been wrong before, so we'll see.

Excited to see Plitzuweit and Koster as both were outstanding freshmen in competitive D2 conferences and have been in the program for a full season as transfers. Only 19 days til the first game! Oh, but don't know who the opponent is yet. 2020!

Heiman (P5 experience) and Fuller (1st team juco All-American) would be my picks, although there are a whole bunch of interesting newcomers. Agree with Lynn about Zizic. We'll see if he can play, but good lord he's big.

This is a very poignant question for USD fans this year. I have to go with Plitzuweit and Fuller since both have the potential to add dynamic ball handling and scoring ability to our roster. As the son of our women's team coach and a graduate of Vermillion High School, AJ will especially have a lot of locals, Coyote fans or not, pulling for him to succeed.
