Per tweet from James Cimburek at the Yankton Press & Dakotan "According to an email from his father, Colton Iverson has been granted a release from his scholarship at Minnesota."
Would love to see him follow in his father's footsteps and join the Yotes.

I would too. I wonder what schools he is looking at and what the restrictions for his transfer are. He would have to sit out a year at USD and would have one year left. He didn't redshirt so that helps.
Even with one year left, he would have Gruis as a junior by that time, so it would be great to have both of those guys inside and USD would be eligible for the Summit League title! I am already getting pumped and he hasn't even committed haha. One can hope right?

Anything new on this. All I heard was possibly considering Creighton, Colorado St, USD and others, which is nothing new.
Man it would be GREAT if he went to USD. Sit out a year and have him ready for our first year in SUmmit tournament.

All I have heard is that he is still making up his mind....and I would add Iowa State maybe? That's complete speculation on my part though.

Let's just get this clear. USD would be a last resort for Colton. He's got interest from D-I schools, as evidenced by his visit with Tim Miles & Colorado State. It's late in the game.
Unless someone else leaves, isnt USD maxed out for scholarships for next season?

Umm, USD is a D-1 school. Let's get that clear.

Exactly Yote 53. I wish the kid well in his decision and if he doesn't choose USD then good luck to him. if he does choose USD, great for us.

Totally agree. I'm rooting for the kid wherever he goes (except State). The meaning behind my last post was that USD should not take a back seat to anyone. We aren't a back up plan or second rate. Even our fan base needs to shed that mentality. If we are going to be great then we have to act like it. No more taking a back seat to anyone because we are little ol' South Dakota. No, we're effing South Dakota!
