It's a good thing we can play defense, because shooting has been a struggle this year.

They've gone box and 1 on Lamb. Pretty rare in the college game I would think. Can't really remember ever seeing one utilized.

Looked like a pretty rough game all around. I'm really impressed by the freshmen's ability to step up and play physical and strong on the road and get a W. Obviously I'd prefer Arens and Ugofsky to be healthy and playing, but that's not an option right now. It was not pretty and thankfully Lamb was hot early and Wichita can't shoot free throws. However that freshmen class is for real and the defense is excellent. Agree. I knew Krull was going to be an immediate contributor, but I'm really surprised how quickly the other three have stepped in. Especially impressed with Watson. Looks like she didn't receive the accolades in high school she probably deserved, but that's typical for a West River player.

Gritty defensive win by the Lady Yotes! Forced 23 TOs which was huge and survived making some silly out of position fouls early on since the Shockers only made 23% of their FTs vs the Coyotes 70+%! Freshmen played a lot and for FR played well overall! Monster night by Chloe and congrats to Dawn on #300!!!

Damn that was brutal. The first time I have watched the team this year. It just shows how good that the Coyotes are that they can beat a pretty good team on the road playing a very ugly game. Not much needs to be said. On offense I feel the Yotes were their own worst enemy taking bad shots for much of the night. They could have passed much better.
Some of the newer players have quite a bit of bulk on them which is gonna help in the physical games. Even Maddie Krull who I figured would be quicker and thinner was more of a prodding player that was more methodical then explosive.
Sjerven is just so good but she needs to stop committing bad fouls. When she gets it in the post it is either a score or a foul. She is the most irreplaceable player in the Summit.
Korngable is like our little Michael Jordan. She has that fall away jumper but her shots were not going in tonight. For the non Hannah's on the team she has the most pure basketball skill IMO.
If it wasn't for Chloe Lamb it may have been a different game. Kudos to her for a heckuva game.
Kyah is a player. Imagine when her and Arens are on the floor at the same time if Monica is back next year. That is gonna be like 2 bulldogs roaming the court at the same time. Her flying rebound and put back was the play of the game IMO in the 4th quarter. She is gonna be one of those fan favorites for years to come.
The Yotes just need games. The newer players don't gel together real good yet but once they do it is gonna be a fun team.
