In particular, I'd love to see both Watson and Hansen have big games, so we can develop those consistent fourth and fifth scoring options. Krull, too, has been on the verge of a breakout game. I'm hopeful that Ugofsky's ankle is healed up, as well.

Aspen looked comfortable and made some shots in her limited minutes.

I was not able to watch the game last night. Anyone who did have any insights? Looking at the box score, it looks like Watson is still the starter, and got plenty of minutes, so either Jeniah isn't 100% or Watson has simply earned that spot. I'll probably watch the game over my lunch hour (thanks GoYotes.com!), but I thought I'd at least take a look at the stats:
-Lots of playing time for reserves, including Aspen.
-Watson and Peplowski seem to have had big games, great to see a career day for Allison! She shot 100% for the game, 3-3 inside the arc, and 2-2 from the stripe. Plus 4 rebounds and a steal in just 11 minutes.
-Hard to evaluate defense based just on stats, but it looks like there were a ton of blocks, steals and forced turnovers evenly across the whole roster. Good team defense.
-The shooting % has been part of this program's identity for a while, so I think it's fair to pick on that. Especially in an NAIA game. There were lots of individually great shooting performances in this game, but it certainly wasn't perfect.
-Sjerven and Korngable have been very consistent shooters this year, and again did great. Both were 5-7 from the floor. Liv was 2-2 from the arc and Hannah was 4-5 from the stripe!
-Krull and Peplowski were a combined 6-6 from the stripe, but as a team we only shot 69.6% FT. Lamb, Watson, Ugofsky, and Williston all shot 50% FT, but many only had two attempts. Still, there is room for improvement. We have seen how important that stat can be in close games.
-Korngable (2-2), Watson (2-3), and Guebert (2-5), shot really well from the arc, and it good to see Macy involved again. Lamb, Sjerven, Krull, Hansen, Sankey, Mazurek and Hempe were a combined 1-12 from downtown. Ouch.

Aspen looked comfortable and made some shots in her limited minutes. Definitely. In just 3 minutes play time she logged 5 points, a block and a foul, shooting 50% from the floor. Although a rebound would have been nice, it was only 3 minutes.

I'm hoping that Kunzer is okay after that fall. She was mighty wobbly trying to stand after that one.
