2021-2022 year Farris played her club ball for KC Power. shes listed as a L/DS there. The USD roster does not list any liberos, only defensive specialist. After this next season when Weideman will be gone, im guessing anyone who has played the libero position at all will be evaluated by the coaches. Heres a interesting fact, Lolo never played libero in high school or first 2 years at USD. She came as an outside hitter. I'd say whoever plays the best in the defensive specialist position this year will have a foot up for the libero spot the following year, just like Lolo did.

Looks like a couple of great athletes! Reminds me about several years back when they were publishing an "athletic performance index" scores for all Husker athletes. It consisted of:
-standing high jump -100-meter dash -pro-agility test (lateral change-of-direction 5-10-5 meters)
The Husker Volleyball players had the highest scores of any sport on campus, on average. Only a handful of football athletes were scoring higher, mainly RBs and DBs IIRC.
For what is seen as a non-contact sport, you still have to be extremely quick and athletic to play it at a high level. And combine that with size/length. Pretty impressive young ladies.

Looks like we just got a MB transfer! This is the first I've heard, and she's already signed! Did I miss something?
Great addition. With Atley Carey transfering out, we were suddenly a little thin at MB, so this should help!
Playing MB at 5'-11", I'm going to assume she has a good vertical jump.

I agree, she probably does have hops. I went to Jacksonville University website to check out her stats. I can understand her change of scenery. She was 1 of 5 MB on last falls team (2 others the same grade as her). And they had a 4-24 , 1-15 record. Welcome to vermillion.

Just looked up the class of 2022 rankings on Prep Dig (hard to find because it is archived....)
Avery Beckett = #5 OH Iowa/ #9 Overall Alexis Moses = #2 MB Iowa/ #17 Overall Madi Woodin = #5 Setter Nebraska/ #14 Overall Kamryn Farris = #1 Libero Kansas/ #6 Overall
WOW!
Now I'm questioning my assumptions about walk-on status. All of these girls are well-ranked. Who knows. Really this sport should have a higher scholly limit.
