I'm always curious about who we have offered and who else has offered them. Anybody know where to find that info other than sifting through Twitter?

Bisonville. They have a thread over there that covers MVFC recruiting that has an emphasis on the Dakota 4 and UNI.

I don't know anything about this young man and where he will go. I do have some understanding of what the athletes and their families are going through as they look at schools during Covid. Bottom line as I see it is that many of the standard reasons for choosing a school are no longer relevant. Proximity is important, safety during Covid (have teams postponed games because of their Covid issues), how has it been handled on campus are now considerations being discussed. I believe it's tough to make a call on any athletes without first hand knowledge.

Last time I looked, our starting QB is from Illinois. Says it all.

None of us know what the future holds for this kid. Your negative one liner implies you know more than the rest of us, and by not elaborating you come off as a jackass. Yeah, every kid out there gets multiple offers, and therefore can't attend every interested school. Why did you pick this specific kid to enlighten us of that fact?

Wow, who could have imagined saying a kid is not coming here would get a reaction like this? If you are being serious I will tell you why. As for me being a jackass trust me sir I know way more than your ass. First of all he plays for one of the best Illinois HS teams in the state. He will get multiple offers from the BIG schools in Illinois. Second, USD has done NOTHING to attract big time talent in the last 5 years. I have read others threads and already “wait for next year” again. I know his coaches and I guarantee they laughed at the offer. Not because it's USD because that's how cocky they are. They will tell the kid where to go once he decides from his multiple offers he will receive. AND it won't be USD. Keep drinking the punch thinking that these coaches are going to change the program. Wait til next year. Go ahead and ask yorefbfan I he thinks this kid is coming here. I already know the answer. By the way, is arguing with you going to get me kicked off the site? It seems that if people have different opinions they get booted, just asking all might know it all.

Last time I looked, our starting QB is from Illinois. Says it all. Yes he is. Question: Did he have an offer to Illinois? You know the school that's 20 minutes away? Just saying if he did you really think he picked USD over Illinois the way the Illinois program is? By the way this TE is in a different league than the QB. To compare them is just stupid. The level of competition they compete against is not even close. (He didn't have an offer from Illinois - Illinois state and Indiana state only offers) All this from saying a kid is not coming to USD

Great intake on the whole subject, but to say that it’s one of the best HS programs in the state is definitely a stretch. Do they play in a nice area and play against very good competition, yes, but have they competed or even been close to winning state titles NO so hold the big time attitude on those statements. Good players, are good players, no matter where they come from. So watch the unwarranted shots at our QB, this kid will be a major player when it’s all said and done!! Quote me on that one, the bigger schools missed big time because he’s not a Chicagoland kid.
All of this kids offers are lower level FBS (teams USD can beat) and other upper level FCS schools. He’s a heck of a player and may attract some FBS attention, his length is worthy of that attention, but USD absolutely has as good a chance as any of these schools to attract his talent, especially with the personality of the staff, facilities, and the style of offense. If you want to question, how I know let’s just say, I personally know a whole lot about the state of Illinois football landscape. I’ll leave it at that!!

I do agree that with the coaches we have in place I do not have faith things will get much better than they are now. If it is not one thing it is another as far as why the program consistently struggles. The Coyotes have kind of gone through the retreads of coaches. I think next time I would like to see someone hired that is younger and has a lot of energy for the job. I don't think that has been so much the case for the last 2 hired. I believe the Coyotes have gone with coaches that have been on the downside of their careers. "Wait for Next Year" has kind of been the motto of the program for the last 30 plus years. When your biggest rival's worst season is better than your best season (which has pretty much been the case) than that is a big big problem.

Hey disgruntled dad (or hello1 or usdyotes or whatever you're going to call yourself this year) Great to see you back as you always bring so much to the discussion. I don't know where we'd be without your expertise. FYI: Austin Simmons signed a professional contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL so maybe you should see if they have a message board that you can go to and post your anti Austin vitriol. Still bitter about him beating out your son for the position? That's just so sad. Make sure you inform Tiger Cat fans that you know more about football than anyone just as you have so many times here. You certainly were correct with your prediction of Austin's leaving USD because he wouldn't be able to compete with the Iowa State transfer. Pure genius!
