Haha, I was talking about the Camp kid, but I think I like your response better.
Run the ball, throw the ball, defend the run, defend the pass, cheer the kids on and enjoy the competition. In my opinion, if we haven’t seen them everyday at practice or in the weight room and meetings, then there’s no room to judge coach’s decisions. This is a terrific coaching staff with a leader who knows how to win, yes they will fail at times or fall short of expectations, but all those kids and coaches are busting their tails to succeed.

Last time I looked, our starting QB is from Illinois. Says it all. Yes he is. Question: Did he have an offer to Illinois? You know the school that's 20 minutes away? Just saying if he did you really think he picked USD over Illinois the way the Illinois program is? By the way this TE is in a different league than the QB. To compare them is just stupid. The level of competition they compete against is not even close. (He didn't have an offer from Illinois - Illinois state and Indiana state only offers) All this from saying a kid is not coming to USD Lol this guy thinks he's 'big-timing' people by name dropping U. of Illinois. Year in and year out they are like the 3rd or 4th best team in that dumpster fire of a state. Illinois football has been a non-factor in the B1G for longer than today's recruits have been alive. Top-level recruits in IL don't even give them a look. Is USD going to beat out a bunch of B1G teams for recruits? Probably not. But if it's Illinois or top-level FCS teams, the FCS teams have a fighting chance. Pissed off Dad over here trying to drag the program through the mud because his kid has been riding pine in the dome for 4 years. |

As for me being a jackass trust me sir I know way more than your ass. First of all he plays for one of the best Illinois HS teams in the state. He will get multiple offers from the BIG schools in Illinois. Second, USD has done NOTHING to attract big time talent in the last 5 years. I have read others threads and already “wait for next year” again. I know his coaches and I guarantee they laughed at the offer. Not because it's USD because that's how cocky they are. They will tell the kid where to go once he decides from his multiple offers he will receive. AND it won't be USD. Keep drinking the punch thinking that these coaches are going to change the program. Wait til next year. Go ahead and ask yorefbfan I he thinks this kid is coming here. I already know the answer. By the way, is arguing with you going to get me kicked off the site? I have no idea where this young man will go? I do know his dad and I will talk about it often before he decides and no school is off the table. He does have offers to many MAC schools and the entire armed forces. He might get more offers and some may be from Power 5 schools, but let's be clear this athlete or other quality athletes will never go to USD unless they get the offer first. I hope the coaching staff continues to go after kids that other schools are also going after who are quality kids looking for an opportunity. You may not get them all, but hopefully we continue to get a few. I'll continue to post offers when I see them to keep everyone informed and when an athlete commits I'll post that as well. You are an idiot. As for Austin Simmons he is a horrible QB. No matter what you think. I don't care who you are. He won 4 and 5 games his 2 starting seasons. Wow he should have been player of the year. This is the problem with USD: you settle for below average paly. That's why you will never be winners. These coaches don't care what you think because they don't have to win in order to keep their jobs. You can drink the punch as much as you want but it will never change. As for Simmons we shall see how he does since he can't read defences and or remember plays.

That loss this weekend was bad for recruiting. Recruiting is going to be an uphill battle until we start consistently winning more ball games. Everyone understands that. Great intake on the whole subject, but to say that it’s one of the best HS programs in the state is definitely a stretch. Do they play in a nice area and play against very good competition, yes, but have they competed or even been close to winning state titles NO so hold the big time attitude on those statements. Good players, are good players, no matter where they come from. So watch the unwarranted shots at our QB, this kid will be a major player when it’s all said and done!! Quote me on that one, the bigger schools missed big time because he’s not a Chicagoland kid. All of this kids offers are lower level FBS (teams USD can beat) and other upper level FCS schools. He’s a heck of a player and may attract some FBS attention, his length is worthy of that attention, but USD absolutely has as good a chance as any of these schools to attract his talent, especially with the personality of the staff, facilities, and the style of offense. If you want to question, how I know let’s just say, I personally know a whole lot about the state of Illinois football landscape. I’ll leave it at that!! If you are talking about Normal Community then you are right. If you really are talking about Maine South then you're just flat out WRONG!!! Big deal that's the last 20 years, what have they done lately? Well in the last 4 years: They have made the playoffs 4 times, Made it to the quarters once and lost, Made it to the semi-finals and lost (to eventual Champ) Have won a State Championship. Hello1 - I was talking about the Jacob Bostick kid, so don’t get your panties in a bunch. Heck yes, Maine South is one of the best programs in the state, I’ve known Coach Inserra for years. You want his cell, so you can act like you know it all? You probably need to jump off the forum for a while until you get your mind right, all you are doing is trying to create havoc and you don’t add anything but chaos to a subject by acting like you know it all and taking shots at former players. Austin Simmons was a heck of a ball player, so go back to the drawing board to figure out a different angle.
