Kyson was an intriguing prospect to me. Iowa might have gotten a steal getting him as a PWO.

Typical Iowa! Get in state kids on the cheap and hope they develop into contributors. Inexpensive way of recruiting kids that love U of Iowa already. Give the $ to out of state kids or highly ranked OL/DL/DB/LBs. Never talk about all the PWOs that don’t pan out or quit football all together.

I feel like we don't even recruit Nebraska because of this kind of situation. Thankfully, tons of NW Iowa kids recognize what USD has to offer. I'd say the same thing about Minnesota, but no one loves the U of M.

Wow, absolutely love this early signing day list. Pinpoint on areas of need (OL and LB) and upgrading certain positions depth with excellent talent (a stretch WR who can take it deep with length and athleticism and a talented backup QB). Just by who was signed, you can tell there was a distinct plan.

Kyson was an intriguing prospect to me. Iowa might have gotten a steal getting him as a PWO. Covid year affected his recruiting. Probably would have had multiple P5 offers if not for the weird situation. He can take his shot at Iowa and if it doesn't work out can always transfer here. It's a portal world now, never close the door.

I like getting o-linemen in bunches like this so they can grow up together. Helps to create a cohesive group.

You can never have too much beef up front in the Valley, on both sides.

D tackle...nice! From Washington DC...that's a little unusual. Add in the linebacker from Maryland who committed in December and it's obvious that someone on staff has some recruiting connections in that area. Always nice to open up new ground.

Coach Miles Taylor is from the area. Be sure to watch this guys highlights on hudl -- great hands, power, and explosiveness.
