Looks like the Yotes went 1-5 on the weekend's games in Louisiana.
This coming weekend they will be in Greenville, SC (home of Furman University). The tournament's games aren't posted on USD's schedule yet, so I'll guess some details could change. Maybe a Covid thing, with teams pulling out?

Well, the non-conference season for our Softball team hasn't been kind. They are 5-24 overall, and start league play this Friday/Saturday with a double-header two-day series (4 games) vs. North Dakota.
I'd like to say our record was mostly due to playing a very tough schedule. That might be case. We did only lose 5-6 to #8 Texas. But we have also lost to some lower-ranked sunbelt region teams. The RPI, which (if nothing else) is dialed into strength-of-schedule has us last in the Summit at #253.
On the bright side, our conference schedule is actually pretty favorable, with our only two road series in Fargo and Brookings. So there will be ample opportunities to knock off our conference opponents at home.

The softball schedule is ridiculously hard what with playing all these warm weather teams who've been outside since January. Makes a huge difference.

Looks like the Yotes went 3-1 vs UND this weekend. Not a bad start! Bison up next in Fargo....

Gee, here's a shocker: Western Illinois cancelled the weekend softball series with USD which was to be played in Vermillion. Seems like the thought of having to travel in every sport makes the Leathernecks ill.

Seems like the thought of having to travel in every sport makes the Leathernecks ill. WIU needs to be investigated after what they pulled Week 1 of football season. It makes it hard to believe anything this series being cancelled is COVID related, but what can you really do about it I guess? Nobody is going to die on that hill.

That's pretty crappy considering those four games would have been likely three or four wins. We aren't in much danger of falling out of the top-6 to make the tournament, but it would affect seeding in a big way. Add four wins to the record below, and we are in 3rd place rather than 5th. Looks like our series @ Omaha will be the final season games. Current standings: thesummitleague.org/standings.aspx?standings=1261 SDSU _17-1 2 NDSU _11-8 3 Omaha 9-10 4 KC ___9-11 5 USD __7-96 UND __6-12 7 WIU __6-14
