Conference-only games, stats comparison (can be found at the Summit League site):
I won't go into great detail, because USD is #1 or #2 in most stats and NDSU is #3 or #4 in most stats. Both teams seem to be very well-rounded statistically. Not many weaknesses. The stats that stand out to me:
-USD hasn't been great from the arc, both defending and shooting (by Summit standards). We are #5 in 3Pt% (.335), #4 in 3Pt% defense (.323) and #7 in 3Ps/game (6.6)
-NDSU hasn't been as good with assists and turnovers. They are #5 in TO margin (-0.43), #9 in Assists/Gm (10.93), and #9 in Assist/TO ratio (0.67).
-NDSU is #5 in Blocks and #6 in steals.
I don't really know what having a low # of assists means for a team, but that seems to be their biggest weakness. Does it relate to the type of offense they run? Less passing, or set plays? Their offense is coming from multiple players, not just one standout that goes down and plays iso ball or something. Maybe some XNO-savvy basketball guys/gals can answer that....

In my experience the lack of assists seems to be more a result of one-one moves for a shot vs a pass to someone for a shot.
I am just hoping the goal of these games are: to be playing well heading into the Summit League tournament. It would be easy to lose focus as the results of the games will not change the Yotes Summit League seeding.

Anything less than a sweep will almost certainly have a negative impact if we end up having to rely on an at-large bid. I'd think that would provide the women some motivation.

Hempe out with ACL re-injury from practice this week. Crap. She was playing really well recently, too. She will have surgery, according to coach P in pregame.

It’s starting to click for Krull. Look out.

Anyone who missed that game should go back and watch the replay. Probably Krull’s and Heaven Hamlin’s best games. Will be a must watch tomorrow.

With as poorly as we shot free throws and three pointers and as hot as NDSU was from behind the arc, USD was very lucky to win today. Krull is going to be a superstar before she's done here.

Well, we wondered how the bench was doing. So today: first player off the bench getting a season ending injury and then 3 starters get early foul trouble. Some little-used players stepped up, most notably Guebert.

Way to tough it out Lady Yotes!! Word has it that the Bizon women tackled better today than the Bizon FB team! There were some rough knockdowns!! Coyotes definitely need to play better perimeter D tomorrow. Go Yotes!!!

It didn’t, but looked potentially dangerous. We don’t need any more injuries, thank you very much.

The positive takeaway from this game and the UND series is that there won't be any surprises in SLT when the game is called much more rough. Though, allowing defenses to be more handsy and slow down cutters is one thing. The number of forearm shivers to the back of the neck on Sjerven was something else entirely (just to pick one specific trend). Her aggressive style of play apparently leads itself to have opposing coaches say you have to match her physicality, but wowza. It was boarder line 'cheap shots' all afternoon.

Now that was Coyote lockdown D especially in the first half and was the difference in the game!! Hannah was so dominate on D with 5 blocked shots, great rebounding and scoring!! All the seniors played very well as Dawn mentioned!! Another good game for Macie--she's finding her 3 pt shot! And Maddie is getting more comfortable with the 3 also!! And Claudia had several super hustle plays as always! Go Yotes!!!
